@Ulitzer95The Alfred Hoffman who died in 2021 seems to have been born in 1923 so I don't think it's the same one. I'm lay in bed presently so unable to use my laptop, but will confirm anything needed by you and @Gisooo tomorrow.

It would still be pretty subjective because cancers vary wildly. What type of cancer you have and what your general health was before it will all have an impact. Celebrities also have access to any cosmetics they want and especially in the case of the monarch, there will be a lot of time going in to making them look better. I'm inclined to trust Ulitzer's source here on Charles, which is a nuisance because that means even more people will be hoarding the Charles coins and I'm even less likely to find any of the nice ones they released with wildlife on.

I wouldn't either, but I'd be willing to give it a go. Preferably in to a cage of hungry lions. -
That's why I always insist on taking the measurements personally tbh.

Goodness me. Can someone please just lock this fucking thread? If he carks it then reopen it, but this is just needless drivel and it's incredibly low-grade content.

GWR didn't hang around did they? The announcement of the death of Sonobe was literally this morning. Which means they literally printed off the certificate immediately after and hotfooted it over to Merseyside.

Shi Ping was supposedly born 01/11/1912. Even if true, he isn't older. Alvaro Jose de Souza almost certainly is, Josias de Oliviera could be but I'm not sure if there's really any documentation for him.
-
I think it's highly unlikely that John Tinniswood is truly the oldest living man. He's only a little above 111.5, which would be very low for the titleholder. I think in reality he's probably more like 3rd or 4th.

It's not really known with certainty who it is. The people I've spoken to who are actually involved in all the validations do seem to believe it's plausibly this guy: https://gerontology.fandom.com/wiki/Alvaro_Jose_De_Souza There's enough documentation for him that they know he's either that age or very close, but they can't conclusively prove his exact age. It'll likely be announced as Sonobe.

https://longeviquest.com/2024/04/worlds-oldest-man-dies-at-114/ Two immortals in one day.

https://longeviquest.com/2024/04/worlds-oldest-man-dies-at-114/ Juan Vicente Pérez Mora dead a couple of months shy of 115. Really defied the odds, fair play to the guy.

As someone who was actually on Countdown, I favour nine-letter words. Things like imperious, execrable, and repulsive. Criminals also works as a descriptor of that length. -

Speak for yourself. -
Unusual way of referring to the queen, but whatever floats your boat.

It's like he's having a competition with Churchill on the £5 note to see who can look the most miserable. Bring back Stephenson and Fry fivers.

Yeah I didn't have the highest degree of confidence in it, it was just what seemed possible based on the place name. Winifred M Johnson is far too common of a name for me to really whittle down unfortunately.

This https://www.ancestry.co.uk/discoveryui-content/view/49260488:8753 seems to suggest she married and became Winifred Meeluish (possibly a mistranscription of Melluish or Melhuish). No one matching in the index for anything like that as far back as I can go (to 1984). The 17 July 2017 seems to be false though. Beyond that, I can't really do much.

In the absence of anything else to do with my Friday off, I've elected to do a bit of detective work. Melvyn Ford was actually born 13/12/1923, but was registered in Q1/1924. The Melvyn Ford who died in 2000 was also born 13/12/1923. It's definitely the same person.
-
It definitely could be her - Shirley E Allder registered in Q1/1936, and the Shirley Eileen Reid who died in 2019 was born 10/03/1936.
-
I stand corrected - my own fault for not being more thorough - I'd failed to account for the original change. Apologies.
-
@Ulitzer95 I think Shirley Collins was 1937 instead of 1936. Ancestry seems to suggest 1937.
-
It could be worse. A male friend of mine failed to notice that his phone had autocorrected "thank" to "wank" and consequently sent me a message that he had "a lot to wank me for" He's never actually made good on it, even though I have attempted to redeem it numerous times.

I never knew Norman Wisdom was that way inclined
-
I should stress that I cannot conclusively prove that it is her.

I dare say there are a few duties he performs that you might not want to admit to being qualified for.
