I predict the grim reaper is going to confound sceptics and be its most powerful yet like a super strong enema in 2024 moreso than recent years equalling or even beating 2020

I'll do you a deal (and anyone else who wants to get in on this). If the list ends with 15+ hits (the very minimum score I'd say a well selected list should get), then I'll donate £50 to a charity of your choosing. If not, you have to donate £50 to a charity of my choosing. One of us has to be right, and some good can come off the disagreement. There's a real potential for the deathlist to get 25+ hits with clever choosing and ditching the cloying sentimentality of having loads of very old A-list celebrities on because they don't want to risk them missing out on the hit. -

Absolute rubbish. "The aim of the list is to predict celebs who could die this year" "should be on even if they don't have any known health issues" In terms of what makes someone likely to die, severe health issues are the single biggest factor. A 50 year old with very advanced cancer is significantly more likely to die than any random nonagenarian. Sure, in your 90s the light can shut off at any moment, but I think people get far too attached to the notion that it would be a miss if someone in their 90s was left off due to being in apparent good health and subsequently died. I wouldn't consider that a miss - it wasn't really predictable. Over 90 and in bad shape should be included, over 90 and still physically and mentally active should not. In your 90s, the chance of making it to your next birthday is about 2/3. If you're in relatively good health, it's higher than that. That's why I don't think it's sensible to pick people on that alone, especially when a lot of these people have enough money to afford the very best healthcare. -

And also that the decision to just pick a bunch of very old people, many without serious health issues, was a bad one. 6/10 of my picks have died in the mini deathlist game I play with a few friends, and they're all very well known people. Two were under 50, one just over 50. I picked people based on their health, not their age. I might even get a clean sweep by the end of the year. If I've got more hits from 10 picks than the deathlist has from 50, it's a sign that something needs to change. -

Has there ever been a relevant/trustable post from TOC in any topic? If he said it was raining I'd still look outside to check. -

I remember watching Trumpton despite not being alive when it first aired. An absolute classic. -

I wouldn't mind being the filling of a Marchand sandwich. I'd have his French stick any time. -
Yeah I mean fair enough but forgive me for preliminarily doubting someone who has a paedophile on WhatsApp that is sending them messages. The guy didn't report the messages to police, which tells you that either 1) He didn't think that there was anything wrong with the guy possessing them, or at least didn't feel repulsed enough to get the law involved. 2) He knew that ratting on the guy would lead to him being exposed for certain things. Both of which qualify him as a disgraceful individual. I wouldn't be surprised if more comes out here.

So he says. They clearly had grounds to believe he'd be interested in them even if he didn't make them. This is all becoming a bit of a huwdunnit.

In any civilised country, October.

It's absolutely shameful that there are people like this out there. Putting the month first in the date is completely unacceptable.

The last time this thread had had activity before this post, there were still a handful of WW1 veterans living in the UK. Why did you feel it important to resurrect it to post this garbage?

I'd love to own a few pairs as well. Preferably after I'd removed them from some of those gymnasts. -
Surely it would be brinner?

For the avoidance of doubt, my commentary was intended to be satirical. I am onboard with your suggestion to dispose of the NHS managers, having seen an acquaintance be forced to quit his job and be pushed far in to depression almost entirely because the managers at his unit were completely inept and would throw him under the bus at every opportunity.

The general consensus of my extremely northern family, based on this, would be that you're a posh toff who probably has six offshore bank accounts and murders frail grandmothers for fun.

All this lunch/dinner crap. I resent the fact I'm constantly having to switch between the two to get people to understand that I'm referring to the midday meal. Can't we just decide upon a standard name for it across Britain? I grew up in a very working-class, northern household - you had breakfast, dinner, tea, and supper. If I use dinner in the environment I work in (an industry where a lot of the people I work with are based down south/grew up a bit more privileged than I did), then they'll think I'm referring to the evening meal. If I use lunch within earshot of any of my relatives, they'll lambast me for being "posh" when I was "raised a northerner". What's the split on here? Is it lunch, or is it dinner?

It would be nice if you credited the original source, that the GRG have ripped this from. Complete charlatans.

I expect that would run rather like the tennis: men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles. -

The main problem with Lewis Goodall is that he looks like the default mii on Wii Sports, and that behoves me to conclude that he is exceptionally dull. I reckon his favourite colour is beige. -

If I were you, I'd make sure I was facing away from Owen Jones in this arrangement. The guy's so full of shit that if it was the other way round I fear you'd end up with a very unpleasantly tinged member. -
During lockdown, I started a custom of sending a fact every day to a trivia-loving friend who was finding it quite tough. It provided both of us with a lot of fulfilment, and I spent a lot of time finding the perfect fact each day. He read them every day, and would react or comment on every one. After a year and a half of facts, he sadly passed away unexpectedly. It was a very hard loss to take, and the fun custom was shelved. I mentioned how much I missed doing it to a friend many months later, and he encouraged me to consider starting it up again, and he'd be more than happy to be the new recipient if I felt able. After mulling it over, I decided I would start it again. Occasionally it'd be mentioned to another person, who would ask to be signed up. It's now sent to half a dozen friends every evening, and it's pretty special for me not just knowing that I'm giving them something small to look forward to each day, but that I also get to interact with them each day. Definitely has improved my mental health, and I'm sure my original friend would have been delighted knowing that the daily facts were still operating.

I recently learnt that there's such a thing as "left-dressing" and "right-dressing" in the tailoring industry, which apparently refers to the side of the body that a guy's dick rests when attired (generally it's towards one leg or another). Apparently the overwhelming majority of men are "left-dressers", meaning it rests by their left leg. It's not something I've ever really thought about before, but there seems to be an awful lot of backing for this. I tried changing the present orientation of mine, and it definitely felt wrong, even though I've certainly never given the arrangement any conscious thought.
