Just like Jimmy Carter.
-
You said the same about Delors...

It's not just one journalist. This has been reported twice by two respectable outlets. Cancer doesn't act as quickly in those of extreme old age. He looked extremely pale at his wife's funeral, consistent with such a diagnosis. Emphasis mine: In the United States, hospice care is a type and philosophy of end-of-life care which focuses on the palliation of a terminally ill patient's symptoms.
-
They won't say anything about him until he dies. As news outlets in the US go, you'll be hard-pressed to find one more reliable than the AP.
-
He's mentioned as having cancer by at least two very reputable sources now. It's not like these are National Enquirer reports.
-
Confirmed terminal cancer by the Associated Press.

Also this (other than the end bit):
-
Fucker should be hanged, drawn and quartered.

Yeah I was wrong and I removed the reaction. I genuinely didn't think it was likely.
-
I'm still subscribed for obvious reasons, I just can't be bothered as much with reactions and the like. @TQR can't you piss off already? Guy keeps facepalming every single one of my posts.
-
If you're referring to me, I won't do that. I don't really check this thread as much anymore.

Never gonna let Jimmy down
-
But don't you think it's telling how he's still in hospice care even after his original rationale was apparently to do so only to stay close to his wife? I think that's proof positive he knows he can't be treated for whatever he has now and that he just wants to die naturally, however much time that may take.
-
I think the fact he's remained in hospice even after his wife died lends credence to the story of his cancer returning. Even if he didn't go in because it returned, it's quite likely he had to continue medical treatment to prevent it from doing so. I'm guessing now, having stopped medical treatment for nine months before his wife died, it's too late for him to leave hospice and return to treatment, the cancer being too advanced.

2024 will be the year, I'm 100% confident.
-
There's no way it's just a mistake. He would've had to be receiving medical treatment either to treat a recurrence or at least to prevent it from recurring. His survival thus far makes sense considering what @Prophet noted:
-
His melanoma came back and he's stopped medical treatment.

Never Gonna Give Jimmy Up
-
I'm confident. I remember feeling the same way about Henry Kissinger and Prince Philip, and then it happened, both in their centenary year.
-
It's certainly the last full year, possibly the last full month.
-
It's a Christmas tree to kick off the celebration of his life. Likewise tempted to make a Jimmy vs gcreptile poll.
-
Carter Center already preparing tributes for Jimmy...
-
Jimmy is now the oldest living person on the list.
-
Thanks. Well, he's not the only personage I'm following but I'll probably engage a bit less.
