There are about a half dozen songs here which I haven't heard yet, I am admittedly more of an 80s/90s person lol. Will join in once I've heard the ones I haven't listened to yet. -

Lifelong Insomnia fan, these days I really like the live versions. Was really torn up when Maxi Jazz died a couple years ago, -

So sorry for your loss. Sending my best wishes.

Nor could they bother to fact check Ethel Kennedy's age or the fact that there were four hits before her.
-
Thank you for the welcome. Excited to post more and to get to know everyone here.

Mikkey Dee was hospitalised with sepsis over Christmas.

One of the healthiest looking and sounding 90 something year olds I've ever seen. Would be surprised if he went this year.

Was really surprised they didn't pick Yarrow especially after the disaster that was 2024, seemed like a guaranteed early hit. I guessed early February simply because of how many 90+ year olds are on this one, feels like one should die randomly every few weeks but also the same could have been said about 2024 lol.
-
Agree with all of the above. Could see her being one of the early hits. One of those names that makes me wonder how the hell she's still alive. Should be long dead.
-
February 2nd, don't think any of these names will score imminently
-
Agree with Chomsky. How the hell is he still alive?
-
Would his death really be able to be kept from the public long enough?
-
Had breast cancer and a serious horse riding accident a decade ago according to the BBC but that's all I could find
-
So I have some news for you...

IMO, the drops from least risky to most risky: Julie Walters - Really don't see her dying within the next few years. Joe Bugner - Doesn't look to be doing too bad Raul Castro - Still active and doesn't have any severe health issues from what I can gather Daniel Barenboim - Seems to be doing OK Tom Baker - Old but looks to be doing fine. Sly Stone - Not that old yet, only seems to have COPD. My grandmother is a similar age and has survived for years with it, could see him having another few years left Dick Cheney - Is at the upper life expectancy for heart transplant patients but overall I don't think he'll die this year. Josef Fritzl - Could be exaggerating his health issues for all we know Brigitte Bardot - Numerous health problems but think she could still have another couple years left Louis Farrakhan - 50/50 on him. Tom Brokaw - Cancer survivor and apparently has around the clock home care now,. Willie Nelson - Survived bad COVID and has now surpassed his sister's lifespan. He looks decent enough but who knows. Norman Tebbit - Previous heart incidents, lost his wife four years ago and has barely been seen in public since Pope Francis - Only has one working lung, looks increasingly rough, and has had lots of small health issues throughout the past few years. Seems like too big a miss given Pope Benedict was also dropped. Ted Turner - Lewy body dementia for at least 6 years James Whale - Terminal cancer for years and has had more Last Christmases than a clothing shop in December. Denis Law - Definitely think he'll be the next big football related death. Vanessa Redgrave - 87, had a nearly fatal heart attack a decade ago, suffers from emphysema, lungs apparently only working at 30% capacity. Roberta Flack - Only one I strongly disagree with. Overall, I'm fine with the drops. I think the committee did a good job given the hand they were dealt. As I said originally, they were screwed either way having to drop 19 people.

Impression after thinking it over for 2 hours is that it's a fairly solid list. I do think Peter Yarrow and Antonia Fraser should have made it but I'm happy with most of the newcomers and returners. My prediction of 17 in the Correctlist pool might be optimistic but I believe DL will bounce back from last year. Most likely hits IMO are Noam Chomsky, Esther Rantzen, and Stanley Baxter. Still have doubts about Dick Van Dyke, he looked rougher last year but I still think he'll probably make 100.
-
I think this one is fine as a Julie Walters/Ronnie Wood type of pick in the sense that if she sees the year out she should definitely be dropped for 2026.

Prediction: 17/50 Eva Marie Saint Pete Murray Ian Smith Esther Rantzen Nigel Starmer-Smith Alan Greenspan Cleo Laine Stanley Baxter Noam Chomsky (Joker) Jean Marie Le Pen Yoko Ono Prunella Scales David Attenborough Joanne Woodward Harvey Weinstein Buzz Aldrin Frankie Valli
