  1. Now the most offensive term that I have been accused of is being a racist. In my life I've had black friends, and to tell you truth I support Obama for the next president of the United States. I believe on the highest level all people are equal. Illegal Immigration is a serious problem and it will only grow with the years to come. Fact. If for some reason you find my attitude racist towards them illegally invading my country: Then guess what? You are either politically misinformed or you have an IQ of 49.

A native American's view of illegal immigration, after 1492 can be read here. Although nothing to do with big Bob, his attitude to European immigrants in Africa has parallels in America.

With regard to immigration, most of us are indeed on very thin ice.

    IM oh so HO.

  2. I'm sure the English contingent on here will not agree, but today was one of Wales' finest wins of the last 25 years (maybe even the last 40)!

A win at Twickenham, with them scoring zilch in the second half.. ah, it's the stuff of legends!

My only regret is that, because of work, I did not see one minute of action - I'll try & catch it sometime this weekend though.

True, if Wales are to be judged solely on how they play against England.

They got a few good results in 2005 too.

  3. I can't get that one to work, but with recent results I hope we get a repeat of this on the 27th.

Poor show, quoting one's self, but although, unfortunately, the game didn't go quite like the video, there was a few similarities. Both Tottenham Hotspur teams (on video and at Old Trafford) had a player sent off, and both Manchester United teams scored from a penalty. I also fully approve with the lack of prejudice shown by both the Manchester United teams in playing two what appear to be pre-op transsexuals. If you're good, you're good.

  4. Perhaps he forgot to put on his magic mormon underwear. Is nothing sacred? Probably not.

En l'èsprit d'egalité, DttG, I used to have some "holy" underwear too. Zut Alors! Comme ça, oui! Avant, I met Mrs SC and, after several months of cajoling and humiliation (I'm a lucky man, I know), I was "forced" to "admit" the "inadequacy" of my previously-bachelor-beautiful underwear drawer (ok, so wtf exactly is WRONG with lace-up boxer shorts?) and, to this day, have Gordon Hinckley to thank for whatever miniscule triangle of manhood I still possess. etc.

    Yours,

    Outraged of Serbiton, no-longer-posing-quite-so-foppishly-in-the-mirror-but-nonetheless-confident-in-his masculinity-despite-the-efforts-of-those-who-would-seek-to-denigrate-his-manhoodly-undergarmenture,

    SC

Thank you for that SC. Lots of gift ideas for next Christmas.

In fact, the new boss of the church may want to update things for the 21st century, and what better way than through the thong. (Less material, so more prophet, ha ha).

Modern, but in keeping with the traditional spirit of the church. They could drop the masonic imagery, instead having a 'golden gusset of guilt', and a 'brown stained string of shame'. Perhaps it could be worn on the head by the young men of the church whilst chanting the ancient Hebrew 'nowiCanhaVeaSpidErmAnwaNk'.

All the boxes ticked. Money, sex, guilt and a superhero to aspire to.

  5. To put this in context for us Brits I should point out that "leaning so far to the left" in American politics would enable you to see Welsh tenor John Redwood's lips moving on a clear day. I don't think there is a left wing in US politics, just a right wing (Democrats) and a far right wing (Republicans) Outside these two main streams there are just commie bastards.

Are you trying to tell us that people will condone a political system that makes the rich, richer and subjugates the poor with fairy stories? Surely not.

Next someone will come on here and claim that 'the American dream', is nothing but a very successful recruitment slogan used by 'Corporate America' to attract cheap labour, and that there are more billionaires in Moscow than New York. Stuff of nonsense.

I have carried out my democratic right by not voting in this poll, mainly because I only vote for candidates that are bald and have bad teeth. Unfortunately for this reason I couldn't vote for Scruffy Doodle, no matter how worthy his policies.

  6. Not wanting to join in other people disputes but perhaps this thread will prove G.B. Shaw right about 'countries divided by a common language'.

If we are honest I suspect we (in this case meaning non-Americans, well me and those in the axis of evil anyway), are only interested in this election in the expectation that a similar shambles will ensue as happened last time.

To an aside, I once saw a clip of rather excessive force being used on someone critical to John Kerry's reaction to that election, although I have always assumed/hoped it was a spoof. As with the whole weapons of mass destruction thingy, actions speak louder than words. Although are two big bombs worse than lots of little ones?

    Edwin Starr ate my taser.

    That's a rhyme.

    Almost. :old:

  7. 1976 Sid James

    1979 Peter Butterworth

    1980 Hattie Jacques

    1988 Charles Hawtrey/Kenneth Williams

    1992 Frankie Howerd

    1993 Kenneth Connor/Bernard Bresslaw

    1994 Terry Scott

    2001 Joan Sims

I say, I rather like the cut of your jib. Can't disagree with that list at all.

I think you can also add:

    1981 Talbot Rothwell

    1993 Gerald Thomas

    All a great loss :sicktherm:

If only because they were in two of the best, can I also add:

    1982 Harry H Corbett

    1994 Roy Castle

  8. And while you're at it chop those dull Happy Birthday posts. Chop the jokes thread, chop deathlist kitchen, chop life. Chop a job. Chop a career. Chop a family. Chop a f*****g big television, Chop washing machines, cars, compact disc players, and electrical tin openers. Chop good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance. Chop fixed- interest mortgage repayments. Chop a starter home. Chope your friends. Chop leisure wear and matching luggage. Chop a three piece suite on hire purchase in a range of f*****g fabrics. Chop DIY and wondering who you are on a Sunday morning. Chop sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing f*****g junk food into your mouth. Chop rotting away at the end of it all, pishing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, f**ked-up brats you have spawned to replace yourself. Chop your future. Chop life... But why would I want to do a thing like that?

Are you Denis Leary in disguise?

    Or Irvine Welsh?

  9. And while you're at it chop those dull Happy Birthday posts.

What, after I have gone and embraced my feminine side, and posted my first cake for Mark Lawrenson?

It's been said before, but Mark Lawrenson looks like a thatched cottage. He even had a little thatched porch, which he appears to have had removed recently. I hope he had planning permission.

  10. HMS Lyon (or as someone else suggests-HMS Tiger) was the ship that Ian Smith used to meet Harold Wilson on, to thrash out the terms and conditions of the 'Declaratin of Independence'

You genius. I think the problem is that they couldn't think of a proper pun for the news title, and you've just provided the clue:

    The Lyon finally sleeps tonight!

    :D

    That's crap.

Oh c'mon, it's not that bad!

Can you do any better? (Cowboy Ronnie's is good though...)

I can do worse! End of the Rhode for Ian Smith.

I like it madame. A little too concise and relevant though, I think I can make it worse.

How about? 'End of the Rhode for slightly quiffy, stiffy, Smithy, who's now a little sniffy.' Very pithy.

Err... jiffy, spliffy. So many ys, so little time.

  11. Can the mathematicians out there tell us if it's any more likely that people would die in December because it's 330 days later in the year (and therefore 330 days closer to the natural end of their lives) than e.g. Jan 1st, or are people just as likely to die on any other day during the year? I could see the cold weather which most famous people live through in December (if we assume most of the famous people in the world live in the N. Hemisphere) being a slight factor in contributing to more deaths. Let's hope so.

I am no mathematician, but as to the month you are going to die in, I would imagine that it is more likely to be the month of December than February, April, June, September, or November.

  12. Overall 'based on opinion' no matter if the US 'is falling' 'has fallen' 'or will fall' ... I'm very confident saying it will always get back up. What comes up must come down and up again it goes.

I imagine the Sumerians will be stoked if your theory proves correct old boy.

And we of course all know why Cleopatra could never come to terms with the decline of her civilisation.
