Well it's a few years since I lived in Glasgow, but I can imagine it might be some people in certain parts of the South Side's idea of a nice afternoon out to take the kids down to the park to shoot at geese. If you were taking any care of the lad at all, you would have made sure he didn't go anywhere near any geese and definitely didn't try to feed them And as far as I'm aware, an air rifle doesn't really make much noise. You'd have done better, if your intention really was to frighten them off, with a popgun or just clapping your hands and shouting "boo!"
