So what are your thoughts? Any brainfarts or genious picks? Top 10 finish possible?

Seems like I nailed it with picking Bogdanoff. This must be the first time ever that I am in the (joint) lead (after 2 hits).

First time I've had a hit on 1st Jan and I can't ever beat that.

You can always have two hits on 1st of January.

Actually I think they could all trick death this year

Sure. That might be the case. But still I believe that at least 1 or 2 will drop dead before the end of the year.

Harding will be my hit #8

And Gilbert is hit #9 and I enter top 10.

Tom Parker, Tom Smith, James Whale, Linda Nolan, Olivia Newton-Jon, Shannen Doherty, David Gulpilil, Tim Bilton, Ady Barkan, Bill Turnbull and George Alagiah are still alive but I doubt they all can trick death this year. I think I might have solid chance to finish in top 10 this year.

    And one more Scandinavian

I don't know if this is a compliment, but Estonians are not Scandinavians. But we prefer to be Scandinavians, not Baltic (and of course, we are far from slavic).

The all time points bit amuses me, as I am now in the top 20 (hooray for me!) but also something like 14th highest tally not to win the DDP. It is heavily skewered towards the last decade. Although it also shows how good folk like Octopus of Odstock and Rotten Ali and Banshees were at the game, to have not played for a while but still be well in the top 25 all time. (Although Ali's back this year after a long absence, which raised a huge cheer at DDP Towers!)

I'm on 83 hits. Given the current 6 month drought 100 may take a wee while!

I'm also on 83 hits. Let's make a bet who and when gets 100 before the other?

First of two DDP updates tonight.

    Second of two updates.

The DDP Archive is finally here.

The entire history of the competition, as much as we have, in one place. Links to old competitions, the analysis from the hosts, historical bits that might help.

I hope it is of use.

Amazing work! Really interesting to see that kind of stats. Also nice to be mentioned a few times. Surprised that I am so high up in the all time points count. Looking forward for my 100th hit next year.

    Rüütel still looks great:

However Savisaar doesn't look that good, despite being over 20 years younger:

    edgar-savisaar-85685495.thumb.jpg.04ce56047cdde73df0f49c0bfadf890b.jpg

71 today, Savisaar survived a streptococcus infection a couple of years ago (but his leg was amputated) and hasn't been in very great health since.

I think they both will survive this year. Savisaar is now retired and his health is getting better. No known health issues with Rüütel also.
