Surely there is a separate thread for deaths of rare pygmies? There's a separate thread for everything else it seems.

Nice to see other Aussies here. Is Ken Done unwell? Some others could include Raigh Roe, John Cornforth, Kevin Murray, Doug Anthony, Norma Tullo, Bill Hayden, Tom U'ren.

Both the president of South Africa and the VP of Venezuela have urged their people to pray for Mandela and Chavez respectively. I wonder whose prayers will be most effective.

For what it is worth, 'Dead of 2013' should mean anyone who dies in 2013 can get posted in this thread. They can have as many threads as they want, knit a pullover with all the threads, but at least this one should mean what it says. Happy New Year.

although if no one dies in the next 11 days, maybe they all will together on 21 December 2012?

Voted for Nelson: he is only looking like a half nelson these days...

"I've said this before, but I think all deaths should be recorded in the "Dead of (current year)" thread. That way, we have a comprehensive record of the year's deaths in one place." Hear, hear! 'Dead of 2012' should mean what it says and not 'Dead of 2012 except those who have threads in some other places...'

Bishop Kenneth Cragg has died aged 99. A unique pick for me in DDP. http://www.telegraph...neth-Cragg.html

Mentioned in the Norodom Sinahouk thread And since he died in 2012, he ought to be mentioned in the Dead of 2012 thread

Norodom Sihanouk dead at 89

Robert G Barrett, Australian author, dead. A unique pick in DDP.

Wonderful, can open my scoring for the year. Surprised how many picked him in DDP. And now the BBC has two obits to make it doubly sure: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/northern-ireland/17449228 & http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-17448011

Already mentioned here. Actually if you look at the times the posts were made you'll find this is the first record of her death on this website. I then posted in the 'Amy Winehouse' thread about 2 minutes later... Well you shouldn't have posted in this thread at all, wee Windsor. It was intentional. I thought it best to cover both bases to prevent an over excitable, over emotional, caps lock dominated 'announcement'. Since this is the thread for the Dead of 2011, and she died in 2011, it seems appropriate that she is in this thread. If she has her own thread, then that should be an extra, not a replacement. Otherwise this thread should be entitled: The Dead of 2011 who do not have their own thread.

Dame Judith Binney dead, aged 70. Dame Judith nearly died after being hit by a truck while crossing Princes St in Auckland in December 2009. She suffered serious head injuries but was thought to have made a good recovery. Not that good Pretty much what DDT said in that post you've quoted from December 2009. Good to see accurate reporting then. Clearly non-tabloid.

These Englishmen are so keen to keep the ashes.

Thatcher has anywhere between 4 months and a few years left I'm sure...although if putting her as my choice would speed up the process... I'm sure there'll be another death in the next 2 months yet. My guess would be Zsa Zsa (for some originality) but ronnie biggs and clive are up there! The Bishop of Willesden Kim Jong-Il because I am an optimist
