Hiya, I joined ages back and completely forgot I had... Then a posting about Margaret Thatcher possibly never dying on another forum reminded me about this place! I'll try and remember more often...

Popped over to share this with you from another forum I belong to where Sir Clement Freud was being discussed
I can think of one former Prime Minister for instance who all things being equal has to die one day (surely?)
I love that "surely?" As I said in response, she may not have any humanity but she is mortal!
Personally speaking, decisions taken by her in the early 80s directly resulted in tremendous personal hardship for me and my young family. (She slashed overseas allowances for serving soldiers without warning. We'd taken the decision to have another child based on our income including these allowances. God knows what I would have done without the thrift shops supplying second hand goods. Not a happy time and just don't get me started on the Falklands or the miners or South Wales and the North of England in general....)
Ideas and Possibilities for 2010

There has been a horrifying number of deaths among quality racehorses lately. I can't help wondering if a jockey is due to join the lists within the next few months. Ironically, when they do die, quite often the accidents take place off the course - Brian Taylor, Derby winning jockey, died in a racecourse paddock.
The odds on a top event rider joining the list must be fairly short, there have been so many deaths in that sport.
