May I say, scsi, that I thoroughly enjoyed your company Saturday night - as well as that of HoS, LadyG, Bou and CP! Good times... Many Thanks iE+, I enjoyed the company too, it gets to become a good community with many friends after a while, till it almost becomes second nature to go into the chat, you start to get to know when the regulars come in, usually Friday & Saturday nights are the most fun...due to certain people in rather jolly overindulgent moods (not me of course... . Yup, the java based chat will be causing the lag regarding the forum if they are running on the same IP. Chats can use a hell of a lot of bandwidth depending how many people are using it and because of it's refresh rate, put that together with the amount of users on the forum = LAG! A better idea would be not to use Java at all and use your own IRC server instead, less overhead, and you can vet the users as you see fit. Just a thought. cheers scsi
