Why, thank you, sir... your praise makes me blush, but feel wanted & that is all a man can want these days. Apart from those tuna sandwiches. Oh, and the Dicky O thread reopened!
-
John Craven - that reminds me. Newsround was so much better in the 1970s with John Craven. Have you seen it recently? It's belittling to kids and is a completely warped version of the news. No, as you know, I get all my belittling, warped versions of the news from the Sun...

Maybe we should write to Tony Blair or the Queen. Or perhaps Ray Donn of Brinsworth House... god knows I bet he was loving the free publicity..
-
Now that has to be the greatest moment, because you can just imagine getting caught and trying to explain what you were doing. Ah, now this is interesting, because it is the very thing I was trying to comment on this morning when I found out the thread had been closed. I was going to point out that Phantom may have been confused, because back in the seventies everyone looked alike didn't they (same hair do's, medallion chains etc.)...especially when naked. It could just have easily been a compromising photo shoot of...say... John Craven & Lesley Judd... Yes, that is what was in my mind first thing this morning, I am so ashamed. Yet strangely aroused...
-
Agreed. I believe that is John Barnes nearest and Michael Thomas behind, with Stan Collymore on the left. Dogged if I know...
-
We shall never surrender until our demands our met! We want tuna sandwiches, £73 in used currency, a helicopter & um... oh yeah... THE DICKY O THREAD REOPENED!
-
Yes, what was that all about? It was one of those topics which seemed to appear out of nowhere, but yet fragrantly enlighten our existence. I have wondered whether Pooka is actually, in reality, Tony Blackburn... Now that would be hilarious!
-
Dicky would have looked sensational in one of those white suits!
-
Just bombard him with fan mail....he'll need cheering up once he learns his thread has been closed.
-
Yep. I'm not normally one for people power but this is an exception. So... What was the best part of the Dicky O thread? For me it had to be Pooka's bordering on the pathological obsession with Tessa Wyatt... ah, heady days.
-
That's an interesting point. If Dicky O was a football player, who would he play for and where. I suggest in goal for Norwich, but I don't know why. I think he'd have played for Liverpool, when they were the 'Spice Boys' back in the McManaman, Mcateer era. Looked the part but strangely ineffectual...
-
For me they were never as good after they sold their star midfielder, Richard McO'Sullivan, back in the seventies.
-
Lol....but let's get back on topic.... BRING BACK THE DICKY O THREAD! I mean, I'd never heard of Carlisle United until Marypotfuncity posted on it. It's nice to hear about non-league football for a change...

Such as Michael Hutchence, the Tory MP who was found with an orange in his mouth and Rod Hull. Rod Hull died from injuries sustatined when he fell from his roof fixing his tv ariel Well, if he was doing what Hackenslash is suggesting what he was doing at the time, it's little wonder he did fall off....
-
Such as Michael Hutchence, the Tory MP who was found with an orange in his mouth and Rod Hull. Come on Doc... you know what happened the last time you had a potty mouth... And how the heck did the Tory M.P. get Rod Hull in his mouth as well?

'A Self Pleasuring Death Thread' ? Lol, now that is poetry.
-
I don't think they do need merging... two threads show how our outrage is double! Or summat.

Moderaters have no power to lock threads, but I'm sure Dickie O' will be re-opened in the near future. He's just resting after such an active time yesterday. Ah, that is good news TF. Pray tell me, who does have the power to close threads or do such mere mortals as I not have access to such privileged information? Moderators, have that power. I'm a Moderater. I'm a mere Oompa Loompa by comparison. Is there actually a difference then, between moderater & moderator? Maybe it's the Sun Reader in me, but I was under the impression that this mis-spelling was a Death List in joke. Am I being paranoid or am I getting fobbed off here?
-
Who knows what power these moderaters yield? Personally I'm not even answering the phone, let alone the door, until I know what the F**k is going on...

I was just about to say yes, that would be just our luck, but I'd better not... You know what happens when we mention his name....
-
Ah, so it was your fault was it? Lol. I re-read the last three pages of the thread earlier & I'm damned if I can see anything that warrants closure of the thread. Some stuff's near the knuckle, granted, but as you say, no more so than elsewhere on this forum.
-
And so we are still none the wiser as to why the original thread was closed & now my questioning thread has been closed. All I wish to know is why moderaters (& moderators) are closing threads without explanation why... or have all democratic leanings been closed as well? I'm not trying to stir up trouble or dog off the mods (I'll leave that to the rockers)... I just want some form of explanation to what I think is a justifiable query.

Okay, maybe my analogy was a tad strong & I have no wish to fall out with anyone, but could you please provide some examples of conrtent going 'too far' & explain your first sentence?
