LFN Wrote: Wasn't familiar with the name, so Googled her & discovered that we are both perverts, I mean afficianados of the female form, with the same taste. Most recently spotted in Doctor Who as Rose Tyler's MILF, I'm particularly fond of her turn in John Goodman's King Ralph, where Coduri looks exceptionally fit. She does look filthy, doesn't she? Like the sort you could spot at the end of the bar come closing time & treat to a kebab before leading her to a shop doorway. Excellent, LFN & I am pleased to see that you are keeping your moniker. I for one think it suits your obviously goodhearted & cheeky demeanour far more than Lord Dead. Cheers, BHB -

Ah, Welshman, perhaps I have some idea now. Having scrolled back a couple of pages I can ascertain that you took my quote 'lest the unimaginable happened' from the post where I shared the happy news that my mother had responded well to her operation. You then ask 'isn't it entirely imaginable?' Erm, seeing as the 'unimaginable' in this case would have been my mother not responding well to the operation &,well, turning up her toes, then no, it is not entirely imaginable to me. Even my far fetched & vivid imagination chooses not to linger over the possibility (no matter how imminent it might be) of my mother's demise. I am sure you didn't mean anything untoward by your post & I have no wish to enter any petty squabble (I'll leave that to BS & Windsor, lol), so over to you, Welshman. What the f**k are you on about? Cheers, BHB -

Get well soon, Lady G. I winced & pulled unaesthetic faces just reading about your mishap, so gawd only knows the tragedy etched upon your countenance as you tumbled down the steps & lacerated your digits. When you returned indoors with bleeding fingers & agonised face, I trust SCSI suitably added to the moment's undoubted comedic qualities by demanding 'where you bin & what you bin doing?' Seriously, hope you mend quickly & are back in these parts before too long. Cheers, BHB -

I'm sure you've mentioned that anecdote before here or thereabouts. That star struck fan wouldn't have happened to be you, would it, Lord? Were you that soldier? It's time to let it go... Cheers, BHB -

I watched A Clockwork Orange for the first time ever the other night & was... massively disappointed. I appreciate it was made in the 70's etc, but hey, whacked or what? I only watched it because we've had it on DVD on the shelf for years & never got round to watching it (my brother-in-law gave it to us) & anyway, was watching Danny Dyer's The Real Football Factories International & there was an Italian firm called the Droogs after the gang in the film. 'Oh, let's give it a go,' I suggested afterwards, slipping the disc in to the machine. Bad choice, bad move. No sex afterwards for me. A Clockwork Orange. Classic 70's film masterpiece or crock of arty farty sh*t with a bit of violence, tits & vag thrown in? Oh, silly me, that constitutes 70's film masterpiece, doesn't it? Cheers, BHB -

Just finished Dean Koontz's 'Mister Murder' and it has now entered my best books ever read top twenty. Wasn't that enamoured with the couple of his works I'd read in the past, but I enjoyed this one immensely- although his photo on the back cover was a bit off putting. He's not exactly what you might term asthetically pleasing. And he's half bald. And he's got a gay moustache thing going on.... But he can write though, so I guess that's the main thing. The interesting thing about that wiki link is the bit that lists the chart positions of her two singles around the world. She's had number ones in Thailand, Belgium, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Singapore. These crazy foreigners, eh? sh*t taste in music or stronger drugs than us? Discuss. Cheers, BHB

Funnily enough I had already looked at his wiki page as I tend to try & find about the background of authors from the past in order to take into consideration social & historic influences. I take your point regarding his volume of work before his premature death & the influence he has had upon others. I guess his stuff just isn't for me, but differences of opinion are what make this world an interesting place. Oh, and Mary, were he alive today, judging from what I've read about his life I think he'd have been more inclined to spend his spare time in a bar as against here- but then I've long suspected that many of us here manage to combine both quite successfully. I'm about halfway through Far From the Madding Crowd now & really enjoying it. Bathsheba Everdene appears to be the prick tease from hell & I'm hoping she'll get her deserved comeuppance. Cheers, BHB -

I'm probably going to get lambasted by all the literary/ I went to University types here, but to hell with it. I've just struggled through the complete short stories of Edgar Allen Poe & reached the conclusion that this guy is seriously overrated. Don't get me wrong, big words & elaborately structured sentences are not a problem for me, it's just that I found the stories so boring & pointless. The Fall of the House of Usher? Jesus Christ, I nearly smashed my own house up through sheer boredom by the time I reached its conclusion. The Purloined Letter? It was a letter for f**ks sake, who cares how it got nicked and where it ended up? Murders in the Rue Morgue? Quite liked that one actually, but even so, it felt like he went round the sun to get to the orangutang. Maybe it's me. Maybe I'm just an illiterate, uncouth philistine who wouldn't recognise good writing if it mugged me in the street & raped me up the arse, but I don't think so. I love Dickens, Chaucer & many of those other dead guys, but I just couldn't get on with Poe. Gothic? Pathetic more like. I'm about a quarter of the way through Far From the Madding Crowd at the moment & immensely enjoying it, even though it does appear to be shaping up as a romance. That Bathsheba Everdene, eh? What a minx. I reckon Farmer Oak is about to give her a right f*****g good seeing to. See, that's what Poe needed- a bit more gratuitous shagging & if you're gonna write horror you need to throw a few chainsaws into the mix. And I simply don't accept the fact that they weren't invented then. It wouldn't have stopped H.G. Wells. Cheers, BHB -

Are you Boris Johnson? I'm not sure if he won a seat or not & I certainly can't be arsed to look it up, but I really like the idea that you might be Boris. I like Boris, he should be PM. Hacky for Number 10! A failed Tory, eh? It just goes to show, you don't know who you're rubbing shoulders with on here. So, any disgraced politicians or peers about? Archer? Aitken? C'mon you old tosspots, announce your presence. Cheers, BHB -

I don't think I've ever been so insulted in my whole life! Mind you, I'd have really taken offence if you'd asked me if I was Doug Ellis. I am neither a current or ex-football chairman, but my hair is starting to go white if that helps. Cheers, BHB -

Says the man who used to stomp around here during his mod days like a Witchfinder General, metaphorically ducking and burning anyone having fun upon which he frowned. 'Oh, how the once mighty and proud crumble once felled amongst the mortality of mere peasants.' That's not a fancy-ass, famous quote by the way, before you Google it. I just made it up. f*****g profound or something, innit? Cheers, BHB Save Dicky O. Ah, those heady, good old days... How you doing, Hacky? Cheers, BHB -

Oh no, much, much deeper than that. I'd like to hold an intellectual discussion, nay, debate over the possible aspects of abuse in the lyrics to 'Blackbird.' I'd especially like to draw attention to the line 'with a great big stick I'll knock him down, blackbird I'll have 'ee!' Blackbird beatings might be common practice on the cider soaked fields around Bristol, but I feel the RSPB should be notified. Perhaps Mister Blair could look into it before he departs? If he's got time, like, during his global farewell tour. Cheers, BHB -

Ah, Mister Weisman. Responsible for most of the shite the King warbled throughout the sixties. Including the seminally awful 'Wooden Heart.' Although he did write 'Got A Lot Of Living To Do' and I quite like that one. I don't think it's a coincidence that most Elvis fans would agree that the man was at his artistic peaks during the late fifties and then again during the seventies. The sixties, as far as Presley were concerned, were a chasm of wasted talent, crap movie vehicles and embarrassing songs written for them. Thank you, Mister Weisman. I think it's fair to say that he was no Leiber or Stoller. Mind you, that's just my biased and half-arse informed opinion, but hey, that's what Internet forums are all about, right? Cheers, BHB

Had some insight - albeit on a once removed basis - to his time at St Andrews. Suffice it to say the tonnage, wealth and academic quality of the female students shot up noticably once his admission was agreed. Follicly challenged or not - and don't rule out a medical breakthrough that'll render this debate pointless - there's nowt like a royal bloodline to give an otherwise grounded lass a mighty wide on, or summat. As a Villa fan, like William, your post momentarily confused me, Mary- until I realised that the St. Andrews in question must be the university that the follically (might be spelt wrong, can't be arsed to look it up) challenged one attended. It's always bugged me that he's a Villa fan. Why? I've never seen him in the Holte End, although I might have missed him if he was wearing a beanie. Still, I suppose HRH is marginally less annoying as a celebrity fan than Nigel Kennedy. Marginally, mind. We're talking the hair's breadth of a Rizla paper here. Cheers, BHB
