You're a jinx then? Paul Bearer, you are RandomGuest's favourite DLer. I hope you are in good health Paul.

You're a jinx then? I never thought of it that way. I quite liked Rick Rude, too. Bret Hart should probably get to the doctor soon.

Eeriely profetic there Spade... I am gutted, Roddy was my favourite wrestler next to Gene Kinisky (who I met at Shakey's Pizza when I was a child). Now they are both gone.

Predict Your Own Death.....

It can also keep you alive functioning at 10% which amazes me. I'm not sure that I'll see 70 the odds are against me and I am way okay with that and with 49(ish) years down I still think I have stuff to do. If it is my time it is my time, no regrets. As I am female and tend to read into things that may not be there, I'll make the offer anyway - if you need to vent or chat feel free to PM me. -
Joost because I like to stay consistently...wrong.

Deathray and Morbidkid, if you have assets you should have a Will regardless of age. In Canada, if you die without a Will (in-testate) your assets go to your closest living relative, in some cases that may not be someone you want (i.e., an ex-husband because your divorce isn't final). /unsolicited estate planning tip for today. YoungWillz, glad to read your are doing better. We are close in age and your heart-attack kinda freaked me out a little. Lastly, if my children do host a funeral/wake for me (I'm not confident they will) I'd like them to start off with Cindy Lauper's "Girls just wanna have Fun" then a recording of me singing and playing Sheryl Crowe's "Soak up the Sun" on my guitar and then finish with Peter Gabriel's "In your Eyes."

Predict Your Own Death.....
RandomCanadian replied to Merlin1935's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
That's nice to know, but i'm virtually teetotal nowadays, don't think i would be able to carry on like i was doing to be honest, although the only real health issues i was having was terrible mouth ulcers after drinking and stomach cramps occasionally, as i say don't drink much at all now but do still have a mad session every now and then and that will be my undoing probably. Still like i always use to say, what's the point in having a liver if your not going to use it. My uncle got sober and was on the wait list for a liver transplant. He did manage to stay sober and was eventually taken off as his liver recovered to an acceptable level. Throat cancer got him in the end at age 65. He always joked that he got his money's worth out of his hard-working liver. -

I do know someone with almost that level of consumption and he's still kicking at nearly 51. So there is hope for another two decades if willing. -

The question still stands... like what? The first thing that came to mind was that I wouldn't have sex in a public park in the middle of the day, again. -
I saw the TMZ report yesterday, he certainly doesn't look too healthy in his "natural" state.

there's still a ton of things you can still do at 45 that you can do at 26 And so much more that one can't Like what? I should have worded it better: and so much more that one wouldn't. -

Approaching 49 but thanks to good genetics and a decent face cream I look about 34-36. I have a favourite mirror like that, too. I have a different problem with the mirror. It shows a rapidly greying slightly tubby 45 year old when I am certain that I am a healthy slim raven haired 26 year old. I was when my daughter was born. there's still a ton of things you can still do at 45 that you can do at 26 And so much more that one can't -

Predict Your Own Death.....

My parents died young(ish) at ages 43 and 64. All four of my biological grand-parents are deceased, at ages 40, 61, 79 and 96. Nannie made it to 106 but I think she is the exception rather than the rule. I'd like to be around for when my youngest graduates in 2022 and see at least one of the children get married and make me a Nana. I'm going to guess, Fall of 2032. My darling sons would like me to live a bit longer than that, how much a bit is I don't know. I'm chosing to be flattered that they'd like to keep me around. Ha! -
Delayed condolences RadGuy. Nana nearly passed on the 28th anniversary of my mother's death, but she was stubborn or maybe considerate and passed just over a month later. I think she didn't want us to have to grieve throught another Christmas time death despite being a staunch athiest.

RandomCanadian replied to Spade_Cooley's topic in DeathList Forum
I can relate, both my sons are very sick but on the mend. Recovery time is estimated at 6-8 weeks and we are three weeks in. I am grateful for universal health care and extended medical. -
First female Secretary of State for Foriegn Affairs ever Flora MacDonald passes away... http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/flora-macdonald-longtime-politician-dead-at-89-1.3168239 She was a true representative of girl power. Even involved in the rescue of the six American diplomates from Iran in 1980. My apologies if already posted, I did a name search first and nothing came up.

Not Seen Any Good Films/movies

I have never seen Titanic (or Avatar for that matter) and I don't want to, but I'll watch Terminator and/or Terminator II any time I notice either in the TV listings. -
Some deaths hit harder than others...Amanda Peterson/Cindy Mancini it just seems surreal, wrong. My mum was 43 when she passed away, too. It is just too freaking young.

28 Years Of The Deathlist!
RandomCanadian replied to themaninblack's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I think the first notable celebrity death for me was Elvis. I was 10 at the time (turning 11 the next month) and actually knew who he was. I was about four months pregnant with my first son when Princess Diana died. I watched her funeral on TV. The boys walking with her coffin was a heartbreaking image. My day usually starts around PST 05:00, I remember watching the news and then breaking story of the 9/11 attacks. I immediately called my kid's aunt in New York but the line was busy and constantly busy throughout the day. She eventually sent an email to the family around 20:00 letting us know their family were all okay. The kid's uncle followed up with an email around midnight about his experience that day. He was working a few blocks away and had a clear view of the World Trade Centre. Like Sir Creep, I remember the 1986 Space Shuttle explosion as well. I was home sick. I didn't see it live, but got a call from my BF at the time to turn on the news. All those children tuned in to watch the teacher in space, what a terrible thing to witness. I'll finish with Robin Williams, while driving home from work I heard the announcement on the radio and I had to pull over because I started to cry. It is usuallywith morbid facination that I follow celebrity deaths, but his death hit me hard. -
I am here and apparently so are 33 others (within the last 15 minutes).

So .. What Do You Watch On TV?
RandomCanadian replied to Banshees Scream's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
MLP - my oldest son is a serious fan but doesn't like the Bronie term. There is a manga series out now - he put in his Christmas wish list early (we were at Chapters last friday). -
I didn't check stats but that was probably one of the dryest and hotest Junes in a longtime for the Vancouver lower mainland. It has been a constant struggle to keep cool, even in my basement! I have an industrial fan going right now. I should be dealing with my overgrown lawn but it is too freakin' hot! Happy Canada Day!
