    The Dead Of 2015

Fred Latremouille, Canadian radio DJ from BC (my province) passed away March 6 (age 69). He is unfortunately imfamous for being one of our former BC premier's drinking buddy prior to said premier's drunk driving arrest though his legacy is greater than that incident. I remember listening to Fred and Cathy in the mornings. I even had a couple of dates with one of Fred's producers back in the 80's. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/fred-latremouille-longtime-vancouver-radio-host-dead-at-69-1.2984244 I searched for the name and a thread on radio and found neither. I hope this is the right place to post. *fingers crossed*

    Leonard Nimoy

83 is a good run, yet I feel sad. My intense facination with Star Trek faded many years ago though I'll admit to thoroughly enjoy the lastest two movies. At least the DL finally got a hit and Mr. Nimoy is a decent firsty for the year. LLAP.

    Your Least Impressive Celebrity Encounters

I have a celebrity encounter though it was a cool experience. I met Bryan Adams in the Spring of 1986 while working at a bakery. He came in regularly for about six weeks. He was so friendly and always asked how my mum was (she was very sick with cancer and did pass away in December 1986) doing. My mum was convinced that he was going to fall in love with and marry me. I thought she was crazy. We (Bryan and I) argued over music and the CRTC Canadian content ruling. I told him I didn't need to buy his records just turn on the radio. I was a bold 19 year old and into punk rock at the time. One visit he announced that he was heading to the UK for a few months to continue working on the album (my guess is it was Into the Fire). I asked for his autograph explaining that I needed proof to back up that I did actually meet him. He threw a fit. Shouted that he thought I was different. It took a few seconds to realise he was teasing me. I got the autograph and one heck of a story for the grandkids someday. *I tried to attach a picture of the autograph from my photobucket account but the image extension was not allowed.

    Death In The Family

So true. My mum passed away 28 years ago at the age of 43. At the time I made this deal with god that Nana had to live to at least 85. I got eleven extra years, though truthfully these last two years were heartbreaking. She is at peace and if there is an afterlife there were many people there to greet her.

    Death In The Family

Though I've been around for years I only started posting recently. That said, it was cool to find this post. My dearest grandmother (Nana) passed on Tuesday night at the age of 96. She's suffered with dementia for the last two years and I am relieved that she is finally at peace. She was the matriarch and the loss of that has hit me hard. It's my job now and I feel overwhelmingly under qualified. She outlived everyone, her husbands, her children, her siblings, she was the last. It was my priviledge to be her grand-daughter. I'm sad, but joyful at the same time celebrating an amazing life. Thank you.

    Biggest Death Of 2014

I picked Joan Rivers though it could have easily been Robin Williams. I was loyal Fashion Police viewer and miss her cutting and brutally honest humour deilvered on a weekly basis. I'm not too thrilled about her replacement either. Robin's death, if I dare say, hit the world like a ton of bricks. I actually cried when I heard about his passing it just seemed unreal. My honourable mentions go to Jan Hooks and Jean Beliveau. Jan's passing was a shock, 57 is way too young. Not a big death to the world, but the passing of Jean Belliveau was a loss for Canada and the image of Guy Lafleur at Jean's coffin was moving.

Who, On The 2015 Death List, Would You Like To Meet?

Please elaborate! My lovely and dearly departed mother forced me to attend one of Billy Graham's Holy Crusades. I was in my early teens with no previous exposure to evangelical christianity. It was a mass of people shouting and crying and some did in fact rithe on the floor "slain in the spirit."

Who, On The 2015 Death List, Would You Like To Meet?

It would cool to meet Leonard Nimoy or Doris Day. I was forced to go see Billy Graham once in 1981. I found the experience unnerving and not one that needed a repeat.
