DL Status Updates: Statements, Obsevations & Verbal Tennis
RandomCanadian replied to Lord Fellatio Nelson's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
I guess I walked into that one. Oh well, it was fun and now it's not. Take care. -
Robert Bruce Ford definitely made for an interesting footnote in Canadian history. My condolences to his family.

Seen Any Good Films Lately?
RandomCanadian replied to Cowboy Ronnie's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Just got home from seeing Deadpool with my daughter. Gratuitous violence for sure and VERY funny (campy); a must see if that is your thing. -
I used to be a Madonna wannabe back in the early-mid 80's. Woman is not aging well, plus she calculatingly nuts.

Deepest condolences PB.

Alanis Morissette. Close but not quite. There was rain on my wedding day; and yes, good advice that I just didn't take. I met the man of my dreams, there was no beautiful wife but he did move back to Holland. All unfortunate but not really ironic. Thank you disillusionment... I've asked for the Jagged Little Pill anniversary boxed set for my birthday.

LFN: Justin gained public attention when he spoke at his father's funeral in 2000. The story is that the Liberal executive begged him to enter politics which he eventually did in 2008. I've mentioned it before, when my son asked me during the 2015 election campaign: Who is Justin Trudeau? I responded: Our next prime minister. Pierre was infamous for flipping the bird at the west; Justin actually lived and taught school in Vancouver. Who his father was helped, but he had to have a sound platform of his own to actually win. I think he has the potential to be greater than the father. Maggie had a reputation allegedly she has been with rock stars and politicians. A friend of my mum's went to High School with her (I went to the same HS, too) said that Maggie was a hippy wild child typical of the 60's. It was a shock when she married the much older Pierre. I heard one first hand story that Trudeaus liked to party hard. It is not a surprise that Justin is for the decriminalization of marijuana. Charon: Justin is Scottish-French Canadian. His mum is a Sinclair. So maybe you could half like him? -

Interesting, our new and shiny PM, Justin Trudeau, gaining international recognition for being a hunk. He actually has decent policies and formed a balanced cabinet. More than a pretty face, eh? -
The Fox family are pretty much royalty in the Tri-Cities (where I live). I voted for Terry over Tommy Douglas as the greatest Canadian. I never knew Terry or the Fox family, but his legacy is every where. Both Betty and Roland did so much for cancer awareness, honouring their son at the same time. RIP Rolly.

Good gravy! I've actually seen Emerson, Lake and & Palmer in concert with the wasband. It was a long time ago before we married I think. It is a tough year for him, first his idol Bowie and now 1/3 of one of his favourite bands. Morissey must be next.

William Shatner Versus Martin Landau

Son is home now, he said that he couldn't confirm as he doesn't know the word l'étalon. Where is GuyLeveques when you need him/her? -

Really??? Was he well hung? Good grief. I don't know about Landau but I believe that Harvey Keitel is well endowed. My son is at rehearsal so no translation. -
William Shatner Versus Martin Landau

Canada has a lot to answer for, inflicting his acting "talents" onto the world! I am wholly unapologetic regarding the amazing talent that is William Shatner. Je suis tout à fait sans honte au sujet de l'immense talent que est William Shatner. (Translation by my son. I think it is close enough.) -

I follow William Shatner on Twitter, he seems fit and fiddle. I went with Landau. -

Finally saw Star Wars the Force Awakens. It is amazing that I managed to avoid spoilers. I was pleasantly surprised. We had tried to sooner but my son had to be in the right mood and the "stars" aligned for tonight. Yay! -
He is still popular outside the downtown core (watched a news report about it). Even posthumously he'd do better than 0.2%...just sayin'.

It hasn't happened in about ten years, but to some I sound really young on the phone. I would get: Cold Caller: "Hello, is your mother there?" Me: "My mother is deceased." Cold Caller: "Uhm...oh...What about your father?" Me: "I don't have a dad." Usually they hang up at this point. One persistent caller, tried (with a snarky tone): "May I speak to Mrs. Random, then?" Me: "Mrs. Random WAS my mother." With caller ID I just don't answer unknown callers now or answer and quickly hang up.

Read Any Good Books Lately?
RandomCanadian replied to maryportfuncity's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Just finished See how they Run ~ Ally Carter. 2nd in a YA series. Ended with a cliff-hanger so I'm guessing there will be another. Still struggling through 50 Shades Darker. Nearly finished Furiously Happy, don't really have a reason as to what is holding me back from finishing it. On deck is Beverly Johnson's biography. -
So .. What Do You Watch On TV?
RandomCanadian replied to Banshees Scream's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Amazon I believe. I used to follow all three of them on Twitter for a bit, but (and I write this with love) they are idiots on their own. It didn't compel me to subscribe to Amazon at any rate. -
Happy birthday Charon, hope you have a lovely day.
