Fred Astaire soft shoe shuffled off this mortal coil in 1987 aged 88.

And of course let's not forget the 488th anniversary of the passing of the great schemer Niccolo Machiavelli
-
Same year as John Lee Hooker

Chances of yanks banning guns - zero. Obama has nothing to lose and even he can't come out and say it ('this doesn't happen in other developed countries').
It does happen in other developed countries, just not on the frequency that it happens in the U.S. a few years will pass between these things. I can only think of 3 that happened in the U.K in the past 30 years.
They happen in proportion to the number of armed homicidal maniacs in each county. If you can't spot the homicidal maniac the next best thing is make sure they aren't armed = gun control (simps).

No idea really just wanted to be the 500th to reply (is there a prize?)
gcreptile was the 500th reply. If you think you're the 500th, it's possible there have been a couple of replies deleted due to spam, etc.
No prize then?

..Big Brother will soon stop watching

You're regretting asking now aren't you.

Mugabe in Hell.

Mugabe not even slightly unwell http://news.yahoo.com/au-head-mugabe-says-international-court-not-wanted-094759569.htmlHoping he takes a private jet home or doesn't look both ways crossing the road.

With a hat tip to my old mate Cat, what about Peter Falk?
-
What is keeping Mugabe up? He can't survive being picked this time.

19 years ago eila Fitzgerald and 23 years ago James hunt
Mr new Morbidkid You'll note in general it's increments of 5. At least that's the way it was. Otherwise you'd post the same obits every year.
You're such a traditionalist. What's wrong with noting the prime number anniversary - much more interesting than the boring old quinquennial.

Casey Kasem, one year later...
Wow, he is looking good.

Ironic that it was Bibliogryphon who's most upset about a guy who was born in Belgravia and died in Chelsea.
(Actually, on his civil service wages he's probably got three immaculately-kept flats in each district, but, y'know just saying "on paper" he's left-wing.)
Lee was also a Tory y'know.
So you have to be poor to be 'left-wing'?

B.B.King, John Nash, Christopher Lee and other people who were very good at what they did, and many people consider them to be famous, but aren't REALLY famous because 90% of today's uneducated society has never heard of them.Fidel Castro to continue the big summer of famous deaths.
The big summer of famous deaths?
More people are likely to have heard of Lee, as he did feature prominently in the Star Wars and LOTR franchises
I guess many people must've heard about Nash as well, as he was the protagonist of a blockbuster (The Beautiful Mind, grossing over $300M worldwide).
Okay, okay, I get it. I was exaggerating. Either way, I'm still pretty sure many people forgot who Nash was and needed to be reminded that he was that schizo from the movie who was pretty good at math, and I also reckon that many young people have never heard of B.B. But whatever.
But BB was at Glasto in 2011.

I was quite surprised to found out that Winston churchill's grandson is an MP never knew any of his descendants were involved in politics.
What about the grandson Winston Churchill (very imaginative these nobs), MP for Davyhulme and Stretford, died in 2010

Refuse to give up on Mugabe. Despite the fact that there is zero empirical evidence that anybody "gets what was coming to them" and that I have failed to correctly predict his death at attempts 1 though 5....
The bastard might still be breathing but his currency has turned up its toes http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jun/12/zimbabwe-offers-new-exchange-rate-1-for-35000000000000000-old-dollars

Mugabe, gotta go.

WoW. Th
James Last has left the world at 76
and then ten years later at 86.
Hmm, dying twice is quite a feat I suppose
86 is probably the number of chart albums he had as well.
Number of albums 65. Changed his name from Hans to sound less German. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-33075466. Thank providence for the BBC.

The froth has left his cup http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/referee-frank-cappuccino-passes-293848
+1 for the pun
-1 when I first came here I was told always put the deceased's name so that it can be searched. My lesson learned, I'm just passing it, and the (-1) along :-)
Hey you broke even.
SC
The name was in the link when I wrote it but not when I posted it. I blame the Government.

if Charles kennedy had still been an MP there would be a by election already ! but he wasn't. so theres not.
Maybe if he'd been an MP he'd still be alive.

That happened to me once when I was on Larry hagmans Wikipedia page and I was shocked
Shame I can't look you up on Wikipedia.
A Wikipedia page can easily be created ....
And there goes the obvious line. Tee up, knock in...
