  1. I miss the creative titles for each hit that we had in the past. What happened to them?

Seems this year could have had:

    1. Hail Caesar
    2. Death Finds Andy Hardy
    3. Casey Counts Down His Final Top 40
    4. The Good, The Bad, and the Dead

    Definitely some great missed opportunities.

    Or:

    1. A funny thing happened on the way to the funeral

    2. Let's not put on a show

    3. No more scooby snax

    4. The good, the bad and the stiff

  2. Karl Albrecht, the billionaire founder of the Aldi store chain has died at 94 http://www.bloomberg...dies-at-94.html

A budget funeral, surely, offering endless sausage rolls from value backs. Owt else would be inappropriate.

And the coffin should suddenly snap just when it's about half-way lowered into the ground.

    Coffin? Cardboard box, you mean.

    regards,

    Hein

The same day as the last rites are read over Tesco no coincidence surely.

  3. Thats two comedy legends gone in one week _wonder if there will be a third?

With the demise of Francis "Captain Scarlet" Matthews yesterday and Casey "Shaggy" Kasem today, the same could be said for voice actors...

Speaking of which, the last time I looked the legendary Ken Nordine (b. 1920) was still breathing.

it is literally the case that most people are still alive. There are more people alive in the world today than have lived and died in t he whole of human history! I think that's the case anyway

Pretty sure that's an urban myth...

Many more dead people in the past than those still alive today. I forget the exacting maths behind the best study but off the top of my head it was something like 50 fold more dead down the years than those currently alive in our over populated world today.

    Try this link...

    http://www.prb.org/P...vedonEarth.aspx

About 108 billion ever and currently about 7 billion alive today, that's more like 15 fold in the past.

So, a new thread....name 101 billion dead people!

Just get everyone to fill in their name on the way out....

Haven't they already gone, that's the point?

  4. Rik Mayall - shocker :(

    http://www.bbc.co.uk...t-arts-27770266

    Yeah, like total bummer.

Haven't you heard Rick is dead, the people's poet is dead.

Do you understand nothing? How can Rik be dead when we still have his poems?

This house will become a shrine, and punks and skins and rastas will all gather round in sorrow for their fallen leader. And all the grown-ups will say, "but why are the kids crying?" and the kids will say ......

Maya Angelou, caged bird sings her last. Probably posted...... you know the rest

Not a dig RHP, just curious.......

Do you read the recent posts on the various threads? When I log off I 'mark all as read' so it is easier to see whats new when I return.

As I say not a dig, for the postings of death notices belong in more than one thread in my view.

Ah, I see my attempt at irony has missed it's mark. :smileyd:

  6. Sorry rockhopperpenguin, I like you but by repeatedly making those snarky remarks on this particular subject, you are slightly rather making yourself sound rather slightly like a rather slight twat at the moment.

You're so sweet I like you too. So I'll stop being a twat if people can post about 2014 deaths here and if someone wants to point out a link that's fine as long as they don't do it like a twat.

  7. Coronation Street producer Jane MacNaught has died suddenly http://www.prolificn...aught-has-died/

Everyone dies suddenly. Unexpectedly is different.

That poor writhing death row dude would beg to differ...but his heart finally gave out after 43 minutes of agonized, lingering, death.

It may have been agoniozing but it was still life that lingered. The death brought blessed relief. Remember we're all dying as soon as we are born.

  8. Rubin Carter - the story of the Hurricane is over

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/27097854

Already posted about 5 and a half hours earlier on the boxing thread.

So sorry. Didn't think to scroll through 59 pages of topics for one with a pugilistic bent - although, as he died in 2014 and hasn't boxed for 48 years I'd argue this thread is more relevant (unless you're going to tell me there's a retired over 40 years sportperson thread).
