Labour politician, Army officer and ex-Times correspondent Lord Alun Gwynn Jones turns 100 today! He was ennobled by Harold Wilson in 1964 to serve as the worlds only Minister of Disarmament. After he retired from thr Lords in 2015, he said "I told Wilson that I would take the job if I was not expected to support every aspect of Labour policy. Wilson puffed on his pipe and said "not many of us do". Happy Birthday and welcome to the 100 Club

No suggestion is needed for Dick van dyke and Tony Bennett, as both are already included in the official Deathlist for years. Christopher Plummer and Ennio Morricone, both of whom I think are good recommendations. Big, well-known names, but at the moment both are still active and in good health.
