Their both deathlisty for sure but I'd say Jackie Stallone is a better pick than Mel in terms of expecting a hit.

Mel Brooks was one of the last men standing at the BAFTAS party earlier this year partying and drinking etc well into the early hours. Excellent stamina!

Mel Brooks would be a better pick of course. He is well known all over the world. what has J. Stallone done to be considered as famous beside of her Name?  no offense, but she is mainly a simple mother of a famous actor neither more nor less.

  2. After death of Chessmaster Zoltan Sarosy, now the new No. 1 of famous Centenarians is Mrs. Virginia McLaurin, 108 years old.

In this Video from last year she is dancing with Barack Obama

Well we took Bin Laden out. It's only fair that somebody more involved in the fight against ISIS takes out their leader.

Yes, probably the USA killed Bin Laden, but nevertheless he was first funded and supported by the USA, same game with Saddam and many other despots.

Radguy is right. unfortunately the USA lost much of trust worldwide.

Funny thing, I actually have heard of Gord Downie before his cancer diagnosis. I haven't heard of Clearly before deathlist, and I do live in America.

sure, this is what I meant with "worldwide perspective". may be possible that he enjoys a local fame in USA or Canada. but otherwise in the world he is largely unknown. Just check the main media from asia or rest of europe, beside UK,  or for example check the non english speaking country-specific wiki pages, he has even no entry in almost everyone of them, on the whole he`s a nobody in most parts of this world. in Terms of world-wide name-recognition he is not in the slightest comparable with really well known people like kirk douglas, helmut kohl, Olivia NJ and so on,

Nothing for bad, only my humble opinion ;)

  6. If someone is "notable" or not depends also on the own personal perspective.

In my opinion she is well known enough, not only in USA and i would mean on a worldwide perspective she is even more notable than people like bracknell, downie, sandy gall, gay byrne or erroll christie

  7. This DL exist already since 30 Years, starting point was 1987. In all these three decades only one italian made it into the official list (Producer Dino De Laurentis), what a shame.....

Thats how I woukd suggest some notable Italian for next years DL:

    - Gina Lollobrigida, 89 years, film diva, she has serious health Problems (pneumonia)

    - Ennio Morricone, 88 years, film Composer, he retired and had farewell concert last January

    - Silvio Berlusconi, 81 years, heart surgerys after attack

    - Franco Zeffirelli, 94 years, Director (Romeo & Juliet, Jesus from Nazareth)
