A grudge perhaps?Weren't the Charlton brothers famously estranged?

It could be that but I do think he is ill also, personally think he has Parkinson’s disease, looked frail last few times seen him on TV also remember about a year or so ago he had to lay a wreath in the centre circle before a Manchester Derby with Mike Summerabe and he was shaking uncontrollably and Summerabe has to help him. Also not at as many United games this season even before the Corona Virus before he never missed one this year missed a large proportion. Probably a mixture of the two, but do think he will go in the next 2 or 3 years.

    That's how Leicester won it......

Anyway as a Newcastle fan, I'm very very much hoping for a similar performance. Good to see Leeds up as well, they'll stay up and get big foreign money in a few years.

True they did but won’t happen again for a long time if ever.

The last team to sack Nigel Pearson after he saved them from relegation won the Premiership the following season.

I can’t see that happening again with Watford somehow, Liverpool too strong, City will come bouncing back, Chelsea will improve, Man.United even after today’s disaster have a devastating front line sort out of the goalkeeper and defence and they should do better.

Leicester only won League because all the big teams were in transition and won it with one of lowest points totals in years, it was great but it was a one off once in a lifetime season.Too much money since Premier League started l know teams like Cloughie’s forest did it 40 years ago but those days are gone will now always be one of the big boys who wins it with money, unless a takeover happens and some owner brings another club into the mix.

To be honest I can see them staying up unlike many of the other promotion contenders.

A lot depends on how they start get on a good run and they could do but Bielsa tactic of running his teams ragged in training could come back to haunt them if he overtrains them and they are too knackered in Premier League they will be punished. One advantage they may have though is there history and pedigree they should have resources to attract better players which could help them. They certainly have a better chance of succeeding than say a club like Huddersfield Town on resources alone. Time will tell I suppose.

    Which one will go first?

They both look quite frail in that picture.

Definitely Sir Tom, he is 6 years older, a bloke so more likely to snuff it first plus won’t have medical resources available to him that the Queen has. A better question is who will go first Sir Tom or Prince Phillip? Would probably say Phillip but the best medical care available might swing it for him.

Leeds have finally managed not to fuck a promotion bid.....

Yeah next season they will be fighting relegation instead, all my Leeds United supporting mates going crazy over it but unless they invest significantly can’t see them been in the league long probably 2 or 3 seasons max.

  7. Apparently Dawson was the last man to score a hat trick In the FA Cup Semi- Final hopefully one of the Man United players can repeat the fear on Sunday against Chelsea in honour of Dawson, however unlikely.

I often wonder how different Dallas might have been if Jock Ewing actor  Jim Davis hadn't died.

Well there would never of been the battle for Ewing Oil between Bobby and JR arguably Dallas greatest storyline after Who Shot JR? That season when JR and Bobby went up against each other was brilliant so many twists and turns.

It would of been different that is for sure if Jock had been around longer, Jock was the only person really who could control JR and JR idolised his Daddy, also Jock was the only one who could control Bobby’s temper the boys probably wouldn’t of got into as much trouble if he was still around. Having said that it would of been different trouble as the Ewing’s always were in some sort of trouble but there is no way for instance that Cliff Barnes would end up in control of Ewing Oil or JR getting involved with Terrorists and losing the business before getting it back he would of reigned JR in. Also no Clayton and Miss Ellie because although she loved Clayton, Jock was her true love.

  9. Was too young when Dallas was on originally as was born in 1985 so pretty much half way through it’s run but really got into it when Mother was rewatching it a few years ago on some channel.

I thought before it was crap but have watched it all and the movies over last few years Victoria Principal as Pam was sex on legs as was Priscilla Presley as Jenna Wade, Linda Gray wasn’t bad either.

Barbara Bel Geddes was brilliant as Miss Ellie a great actress, Donna Reed wasn’t a patch on her, didn’t know she had Breast Cancer in real life as well soon the scene were she says she was ‘deformed’ was sensational.

The show never really recovered from the Dream series which is a shame as Ray and Donna with the Down Syndrome story was excellent as was the culmination of Sue Ellen’s Alcoholism but then Bobby came back and it never happened as did Pam marrying Mark etc.

If Bobby had to come back I would of done it that the bloke who was a serial killer and who was paid to kill Ronaldo Marchetta and frame Jenna for it on Catherine’s instructions would escape Prison and would be out for revenge against Bobby who helped send him to prison. The FBI would be scared for Bobby’s safety and would of used Catherine running over Bobby as the perfect excuse to put Bobby in witness protection to make the serial killer believe that Bobby was dead, the Ewing’s of course wouldn’t of known for there safety, Bobby could of returned when the Police found the killer or he was killed in a shootout with the police. Very far fetched I know but in that way Bobby could return there would be no dream sequences and all the stories could of carried on as before.

I know I have spent way too much time thinking this through, one of the curses of lockdown as well as wondering how Man United could reach next season’s Champions League once it was obvious season would be completed bloody bad result tonight against Southampton but they deserved it and shows we are not as far on as we thought and still need improvement in defence and Midfield and probably only done as well because of easy set of fixtures.

My favourite character though had to be JR, Larry Hagman was born to play JR he was arguably soaps greatest ever character. Watching the series though you can see just how bad his drinking effected him he ages so much over the years, I know everyone ages but Larry really aged significantly more than the rest of the cast  still hardly surprising considering he was drinking between 4 to 5 bottles of champagne a day whilst filming a Dallas. Along with the liver transplant, his drug intake it really was a miracle he lived so long.

You know its never good thing when your mobile starts pinging with message notifications at 230am. And so it transpired.

Sadly a good friend of mine was found dead at home yesterday evening from what I can gather. Whilst it was a shock, it wasn't a real surprise,  as he had a long history of substance abuse (Columbian marching powder a favourite), mental health issues and a long term damage to his heart having survived to my knowledge at least 4 heart attacks. So to get to mid 50s well- he did well.

As I put on social media it was complex emotions today on hearing the sad news about Si. But that was him. Loveable, exasperating, kind, annoying, laughter. He could be the best friend in the world or the biggest cunt. There was little in the middle and life was certainly never dull with Si in the room.

    Worlds a little darker today.

Sorry for your loss he certainly seemed like an interesting character, always sad when you lose a good friend have lost a few good ones over the years try and remember the good times you are in my thoughts. RIP.

My family has always had a feeling Charles won't make it to be King. And for some reason I feel like next year may be the year...

Doubt he will die next year but I don’t think he will live anywhere near as long as his parents i bet he lives till his early 80’s so maybe another 10 years so will say 2030.

If the Queen lives another 10 years not impossible at 104 (her Alkie mother lived to be almost 102), she will be Queen in name only as I doubt she will ever abdicate. If Queen does live that long would an 80 odd year old Charles really be put in charge even if he does live that long I personally doubt it as he would be too old will probably be past onto William though if you have waited 80 odd years for the job you will probably take it no matter the circumstances. It all depends on how long the Queen lingers on for.

  12. The Queen has a better chance of reaching 110 years of age than most she has lived a life luxury, her Alkie Mother lived to 101 so has good Genes also she has the best Medical care money can buy, she won’t have to wait months for possible treatment on the NHS time that can be crucial. Also most ‘normal’ people will of had to struggle to pay the bills having to work several jobs etc all things that eventually take toll on the body again the Queen has never had this type of stress that surely affects longevity. No guarantee Queen will love that long but I wouldn’t be surprised if she did.

On TV so no photos but watching a recent BT Sport doc about Man United in the 70s and Pat Crerand looks fucked, lost weight, gaunt in the cheeks, skeletal hands, slurred speech etc.

Also Tommy Docherty has shown up. He always used to look good for his age but it's really catching up with him now. He's got the old man red face from vascular issues look going on.

Denis Law looks like shit but strangely better than he did about 2 years ago.

EDIT - John Cooper-Clarke looks ghastly too. This is nearly a one stop shop for DDP form guides.

Pat Crerand has never been the sharpest tool in the box but i wouldn't be surprised if he has the early stages of Dementia, agree he looks bad.

Tommy Docherty-Was reading an article with Lawrie McMenemy a couple of weeks ago he mentioned that Docherty's health had declined recently but went into no more detail than that so wouldn't be surprised if he has Vascular issues and he is 92 now so age was going to catch up with him eventually. I don't think he has ever particularly took great care of himself i remember him once saying something along the lines of 'If i knew i was going to live as long as i have i would of taken better care of myself.'

Denis Law- Has looked awful for years, he is one of those who when you look at him you don't know how he keeps going nice to hear he looks a bit better but that doesn't take much.
