At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if his treatment had consisted of being exposed to gamma rays and he ripped his suit off and turned into the Incredible Hulk. It would barely make the top 5 'Most Weird Trump Moments' of the past 4 years.

Let me re-phrase: 'so, he's probably not sunning himself on his private yacht harboured just off the coast of tropical island somewhere then'.

Ah, interesting, thanks for that. So, not a company director after all. But still, if it's the right guy - he ended up in Hastings and was still there in 2007. After that, who knows?

Well I did some digging on the others but it's a bit more speculative and without any corroborating evidence it's pretty circumstantial but worth noting: Using Bob Sturt - b. Sept. q. 1949 in Islington, London as a starting point: Martin C. O'Mahony b. March q. 1951 in Shoreditch, London looks promising. If so, he's dead: Martin Christopher O'MAHONY d. Islington, London - July 1990 (aged 39 - DOB. 15th February 1951) Mike Lovatt - there's a Michael D. Lovatt b. Dec. q. 1946 in Islington, London which looks good for the year and area. Michael D. Lovatt married twice: (1) Patricia M. Moon - Dec. q. 1967 in Hastings, Sussex (2) Amanda Stait - March q. 1993 in Hastings and Rother, East Sussex Putting "Michael Lovatt Hastings" brought up this: http://www.checkcompany.co.uk/director/844577/MICHAEL-LOVATT which says he's a Coach Driver born in December 1946. The company he works for seems to be a property management company though, so not sure where the Coach Driver bit comes in. He was a director between 2002 and 2007 when he 'resigned', which in this case I assume means retired. Butch Osborn is much more difficult. Google suggests Butch is an old term for 'Junior', so if a father and son have the same name, the son will be known as Butch to differentiate. So it's likely he has the same name as his father, but what name that is would be tricky to tie down quickly without any information to narrow it down. Might be nothing to it, I've looked for Facebook profiles for Mike Lovatt without success, and without a picture of the band it's not much use anyway without a specific mention of the record. But as a work in progress it's a start. Bizarre just how forgotten they've been!

A pardon for what? Anything and everything that he might have done? A Gerald Ford-Richard Nixon scenario? Seems unlikely, but nothing would surprise me with this president...

Ok, so this is where I get called a stalker but let's just leave it at this being an object lesson of what can be found online with surprisingly little determination. From his Facebook page, he's married to a woman called Jenny. On her page, there are photos with young kids and comments underneath thanking 'Grandad and Jenny'. Clicked this to another woman called Sturt. She married Robin Sturt in 2006 (10 years ago today! in 2016) and his 40th birthday was September 29th 2016. Easy enough... (On Ancestry, it narrows this down to October 1976, which makes sense given he was born so close to the end of the month). That gives me: STURT, Robert F m. SEARS, Christine P in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, Sept. 1972. Only two Robert Fs born remotely before that, 1938 is too early so I guess our guy is: Not sure about the County Durham link, but that all seems to check out. Jenny is a second (younger) wife. One down?

Given the dearth of information, I'm assuming you've already come across this, but thought I'd post it anyway just in case: http://left-and-to-the-back.blogspot.com/2010/09/one-hit-wonders-13-rock-candy-remember.html Although the article muses about the band being essentially made-up, comments underneath confirm they did exist, and had gone through previous iterations. Only one name is mentioned, although it does link up with your line-up - Bob Stuart. Annoyingly, there's a guy on there who says he was selling a press cutting about them on eBay but it's 4 years old and not visible anymore. A 2019 comment suggests Bob is a neighbour of the person, but their identity is unknown, so doesn't give an area!

    Donald J Trump

Think this got missed in the argument over the past 24 hours. Trump gave an interview on Fox (where else?) yesterday that was just...insane. I saw some of the quotes on CNN but this article from the Indy sums up some of the finer points: sending water to fish and rebuilding buildings with 'tiny windows' being a couple of highlights. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-fox-news-hannity-interview-twitter-coronavirus-covid-b912639.html High as a kite? Still suffering the effects of the virus (he was coughing throughout) or a combination of both? Or just Trump being Trump? (but this sounds deranged even for him...)

Don't have anything tying him to anywhere in all honesty! Long way from Fulham, but if he moved when he was young? Just threw it out there as a possibility, thought it was interesting that only one matched the criteria and it fit for the dates too. Maybe it's something to do with nominative determinism - are you really surprised to discover that someone called Tony Rees recorded a novelty record to celebrate Fulham's 1975 FA Cup Final?

I guess you can't speculate too much, but the article with the news clip refers to him as 'Tony Reese (aka Rees)'. As you're probably already aware, there is only one Tony Reese born in the UK according to FreeBMD and, helpfully, right in your timeframe: A few more if you put Anthony Reese though, admittedly, but none in West London. His passing won't elude the club or the fan sites, though.

    Donald J Trump

They should shut up. 90% of Dems nationally planned to vote by post, 90% of Republicans planned to vote in person (pretty sure those are the numbers I heard somewhere, but even if they're a bit off, the trend is clear). If the Dems can't win big on the postal counts then they don't have a chance anyway and, even if they are winning big, nothing's remotely certain until election day, moreso in Florida than most places.

The teenage daughter of Kelly-Anne Conway being the one in question. Can't stand Trump or her mother working for him and is now furious because Kelly's got Covid and given it to the daughter. It's the reason Conway stepped down from the White House, because her daughter posted a rant on social media about what a terrible mother she was and how awful her politics were. It's a fun household all round - her husband is a big Trump critic and talking head. Not that any of this devalues what she says, by the way, it's only those who can see through the bullshit who can tell us what's actually going on in there.

It's always hilarious to find out what punk rockers do when they outgrow it. Wikipedia was a great starting point for this lot. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rezillos#:~:text=Mark Sinclair "Hi Fi" Harris, career as a research geologist. Mark Sinclair "Hi-Fi" Harris - trained as an architect after leaving the band. According to the Register of Architects, Mark Sinclair Harris works for Donald Insall Associates: http://architects-register.org.uk/architect/051397K He has his own page here, complete with photo: https://www.donaldinsallassociates.co.uk/people/mark-harris/ I can't definitively find a picture of "Hi-Fi" to confirm but it all seems to check out. DoB eluding me, however. David "Dr D.K." Smythe - returned to his career as a research geologist. He is an emeritus professor at the University of Glasgow and a vocal opponent of fracking (yay!). I was a little concerned this was too straightforward but on his homepage: https://www.davidsmythe.org/ he has a link to personal info where he confirms he is often asked why he left The Rezillos! He also, helpfully, has a family history page, where he says he was born in 1947. Simon Bloomfield (a.k.a. Simon Templar) - pursued a career in sociology. Not as much found looking him up, but on Google Images, I found these images very close together: Surely it isn't just me who sees the resemblance? Bizarrely, I've eventually located the photo on the right to a Twitter account set up last year, which has had absolutely no activity whatsoever. Further investigation reveals this video on YouTube of him performing alongside Swedish singer Thomaz in 2013 (this collaboration is mentioned on Wikipedia). Can't quite decide if the guy in the video could turn into the guy on Twitter in 6 years? That's about all I've been able to find on him thus far, but that was fun!

That doesn't sound like an outlandish outcome with the direction of the Tory Party though. The moderates (what's left of them) back Sunak, the nutters back Patel. In the end though it'll probably be Raab who takes over, a Brexit Secretary who didn't know the Dover-Calais crossing was important. What a shower...

There is a Radio Stars fan site: http://www.radio-stars.com/ On it are detailed biographies of the various bandmembers but no dates of birth. Steve Parry hails from Manchester, which you may already know - there are matching births on FreeBMD for 1957 and 1958 but tying down one may be trickier. Ian MacLeod hails from Benfleet near Southend apparently but there are no specific births in that area of Essex. 4 Ian MacLeods (that spelling) born between 1940 and 1957 - the 1957 one is possibly most likely? The band retired in 2016 according to this: https://vivelerock.net/radio-stars-announce-final-gig/

Big I hope. I watched John Oliver last night, and he was highlighting the various issues with the election process this year (huge lines at the few open polling stations, mail-in ballots being rejected for various spurious reasons, the time taken to verify and count the huge increase in absentee ballots, for example) and suggested that there is no way the full results will be known on Election Night. The problem with this is that Republicans are more likely to vote on the day (because they don't think it's dangerous) and Democrats by post (because they do). So on the night, Republicans may be leading in early counts in Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, etc. but then there would be a so-called 'Blue Shift' in the following days as absentee ballots are counted. Trump's already said on Twitter that the results must be announced on the night or else it's a fix (I paraphrase, but, scarily, not that much). Unless Biden's lead is sizeable enough that he's already in front in the electoral college, regardless of a few potentially close states to rack up the score, this could be even more horrifically messy that it already threatens to be.

Yep, I thought this too. Out in the open air and still looks to be breathing heavily. Then he walks into the White House mask-less, while still infectious. There just aren't words left anymore.

Jamie Byrne, Python Lee Jackson proved elusive. Found a few bits to add to the search though: he's a serial bandmember. Joined Python Lee Jackson from The Groove (another Australian band) in 1969 - that's from Wikipedia. Prior to that he was in Running, Jumping, Standing Still and the Black Pearls, two more Australian bands. OOOH, last look before I posted and disappearing down a rabbit hole has found this: A fan site for the Rod Stewart recordings said after the session, Byrne returned to The Groove. The Groove's page here: http://www.milesago.com/Artists/groove.htm says: The article was updated in 2007, so after that the trail goes cold.

White House Press Secretary the latest to test positive, on Monday, having 'consistently tested negative since Thursday' (fancy that). https://edition.cnn.com/2020/10/05/politics/kayleigh-mcenany-coronavirus-white-house/index.html McConnell's shutting the Senate down for a fortnight, so they can all be 'fighting fit' to confirm Amy Coney Barrett on their return. In order to facilitate this, Senate Judiciary Committee hearings will still begin next week as planned, even if the rest of the Senate is shut. https://edition.cnn.com/2020/10/05/politics/amy-coney-barrett-supreme-court-confirmation-coronavirus/index.html

I still think he's going to make a full recovery, but given the situation that we're in with him a)not liking hospitals, b)supposedly not wanting to stay in confinement at the White House (which he said in one of his rambling videos and would go against his image if he did) and c)watching his poll deficit grow by the day, I can see him rushing back onto the campaign trail as soon as possible, which surely wouldn't be advisable for an elderly patient who suffered a pretty bad reaction to Covid? Could be consequences further down the line if he's not careful.

I may actually be able to contribute to something on this thread! Fancied a little detective work before bed and agreed with Ulitzer that this guy shouldn't be that difficult to trace. Found this link to a book called 'Happy Days and Dark Nights' by Jerry and Susanne McClain: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Happy-Days-Nights-Jerry-McClain/dp/0964105810 which must surely be the same guy? Published 1996. Did a Google search for Susanne McClaine and the top Facebook choice was this woman: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100008641597784 'Married to Jerry for 50 years'! Here they are in 2019: One of the comments on the picture, from February 11th 2019 says 'Happy birthday Jerry!' Year eludes me, but I didn't do an exhaustive search. Still - it's a start? There you go @YoungWillz, done one for ya!

The ridiculous thing about this situation is that after 4 years of misinformation and lies coming out of this White House, even if they are telling the truth and there's nothing wrong with him how is anyone meant to believe them? You talk bullshit for a whole presidential term, don't be surprised when people call bullshit during the most serious health crisis a US leader has faced since the late 80s.
