Full-back Eleazar Soria, part of the Peru squad that won the 1975 Copa America, has died aged 73. He won 29 caps for Peru between 1972 and 1978, playing for Universitario and Sporting Cristal in his homeland either side of a spell with Independiente of Argentina. He won six Peruvian titles, four with Universitario (1967, 1969, 1971 and 1974) and two with Cristal (1979 and 1980) But perhaps his greatest honour at club level was winning the 1975 Copa Libertadores with Independiente, a squad that featured the not-too-long departed Agustin Balbuena.

Luis del Sol, inside-right for Real Madrid in the legendary 1960 European Cup final at Hampden Park, has died aged 86. He was prolific in his time at Real Madrid, scoring 22 times in 55 games between 1960 and 1962. But he was best known for his spells at Real Betis between 1953 and 1959, where he scored 38 goals in 152 games and latterly, Juventus, whom he joined from Real in 1962. He made 220 appearances for Juve, scoring 20 times in an eight-year career with them that saw him win Serie A and the Coppa Italia once each. After leaving Juve for Roma, he also won the Anglo-Italian Cup in 1972. Internationally, he won 16 caps for Spain, scoring three times and was part of not only the 1962 and 1966 Spanish squads at the World Cup but also the squad that won the European Championship in between in 1964.

Alfredo Graciani, legend of Boca Juniors from the late 1980s and early 1990s, has died of a heart attack aged just 56. He scored 75 goals in 211 games for Boca between 1985 and 1991.

Gilmar Fubá, a Brazilian defensive midfielder who played for Corinthians, Fluminense and Schalke in Germany, has died of cancer. He was 45 and had been diagnosed with cancer back in 2017, and although he never achieved any caps for Brazil, he was part of the Corinthians team who won the Club World Cup on home soil.
