I quit paying any attention to what he says years ago.

DL Status Updates: Statements, Obsevations & Verbal Tennis

Yes, I know the British love innuendo. I've seen enough British tv shows and movies to know that from a young age. Thanks for the recipe. Off to the kitchen. -

New Here And Just Saying Hello

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gord_Downie Basically he is the lead singer for Canadian group The Tragically Hip. He was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in May 2016. With that said there are many names that come up here and I have no idea who they are. I'm just another out of touch granny with a yarn (wool) fetish. -
We're overdue a state funeral anyway, the last proper one was coming on 52 years ago. And the last tendy one was 2013. I would think 1997 (Diana) and 2002 (the Queen Mum) counted for something. They were ceremonial not state (as was Thatcher's I think). Churchill's in '65 was the last state funeral. Correct. They do count for something hence referring to them as tendy ones. So when Phillip finally kicks the bucket all he gets is a ceremonial funeral. I'm curious ... if Prince Charles were to die before QEII does he get a tendy state funeral or a tendy ceremonial one?

She did hand out some kind of medal to someone a couple of days agoso she is probably alive. I doubt they have her propped up in the corner what with Charles and the Rottweiler waiting to take over. This is a bit awkward, but Diana died 20 years ago... I know she did but that doesn't mean I have to like Camilla just because time has passed. I'm not fond of Phil either or Charles for that matter.

As a heads up, if you want to suggest someone and can't find a more specific thread, the ideas and possibilities thread is a better fit than this one. Though your case in particular actually has already been mentioned in that very thread. Thank you.

Not so much a rant but I did not know where to share this. I doubt this guy is on anyone's deathlist right now though he is 105 years old. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/olympics/summer/robert-marchand-velodrome-national-cycling-1.3920941

Hein is missing in action, Notapotato and heavencanwait changed their names, the latter being Paul Bearer, I can't remember NAP's new name but I think he pops in occasionally as do LG, Bou and BS to varying degrees. LizzieJones - My comment was meant in jest, hope it hasn't put you off posting. I have to admit you've made me a little uneasy now.

Things To Do While Waiting For Death

Must be an American thing. I've seen them called that in several American knitting and crochet books. -
Oh she'll die alright. It's just a matter of whether it's one week or 100 years from now. I mean she's got long-liver genes but I can hardly see her coming near 190. Phil the Greek on the other hand ..... I think he had to give up competitive Carriage driving in his 60s. That's a bit of an elitist sport but you have to be a hard bastard to do it, Phil had many a hard meeting with the ground while competing. He is made of granite. I know he at one point had to give up polo and that was when he started the carriage driving. No idea if he has given it up or not but from reading his bio on Wikipedia he has had quite a number of health problems lately.

Nice to see you back, Hein! After using that handy little search box gizmo, I see 'Hein' is a bloke from the Netherlands with Admin privileges. Why would an Admin wish to come back as a Noob? That busts my Logic filter, that one. Life's too short for such Machiavellian things. I might be bored and looking for something new but I'm not that bored, bless. Why don't we all just assume everyone here wouldn't know the other if they fell over them coming out the pub after lock in? Just be pleasant, treat others with an open mind and see how we go from there. The t***ers will soon unmask themselves without any help at all from moi. I was only joking. I know you are Scraggy Taters. I can see what you're doing there, drol. You're going to make me research every flipping 'disappeared' profile on this forum, aren't you? lol Can I say, generally the people here seem very witty, sharp as a razor in the brainbox dept. and (mostly) good humoured and I like such things. Just as well I am on hols from work ATM or else I'd be constantly late. It's such fun here! Well that confirms it, RandomCanadian has returned. I would have thought LizzieJones would be more likely to be RandomCanadian. I don't know who RandomCanadian is or was but please don't think I am whom I am not.

I actually inhereited one of these from an American relative. I always wondered about it and why it might have been made. They are strong suckers and last a long time. The pattern is actually from the 1930s . I did a bit of research and found it on the internet. It's called the Mount Vernon Afghan and came from a booklet of crochet patterns from the 1930s. -
His face is priceless. He needs to trim his eyebrows and what are those little horns coming from his ears?
