The Doctor is fluid anyway and I think with great acting and plot it could work. The Doctor has the connection to River Song and any other romantic interests such as Rose anyway so that would not be erased. Regarding the show Sex Education - This is a TV show I needed when I was at school because I would have come out as queer earlier and been more accepting of myself. I'm happy young people have that now.
