I learned last-minute changes are accepted "as long as one's not an asshole about it". Re: Margaret Keane, I have an artwork original by her daughter Susan. All I'm hoping for this year is that my friend's $10/surplus hit bounty doesn't take me more than $50 out of pocket in our annual bet.

Valerie Harper is showing as my 24th entry on the masterlist, not struck out, and not on the quoted update. Am I due the 241 points others received for Valerie Harper (d. 30 Aug 2019)? The corrected score would have me at 10/25 for Hare's Death Pool 2019. Congratulations to John Key.

yes, please, up with cancer. I don't want 1/5 of my lists to be face-tattooed "Lil" recording artists, and I don't want to consider 130 points from 8 hits "a good score." I hope you understand I was halfway joking.

I understand alt.obituaries deadpool specifies one list per person. Has anyone changed their list after submission but before deadline WITHOUT prompting by the alt.obituaries deadpool committee to replace a pick? Was the changed list accepted by the committee without quibble/squabble/histrionics?

Mark Hollis for me. I know he's not as big a name as Doris Day, Carol Channing, Keith Flint, Peter Tork, Scott Walker, etc but his death is still a sad surprise. He seemed to me an active and healthy person.

Sir Charlie stopped twirling his whangee December 25 1977, aged 88. -
My 2020 list is in. I play for money against a pal per hit so I doubt I will rise above 22nd place.

21 piddly points for entry #21 Gershon Kingsley on my list, but they're points.

The 5th Crowdsource Deathlist (2020 edition)
Torva Messor replied to Joey Russ's topic in Dead Pools
From Post 1: 10a) Our actual collated list will stick to the "25 from the previous year" rule. The "25 from the previous year" includes Deathlist Hit #12 for 2019. Who's the substitute for Clive James? -
The bonuses for 2020 are currently being voted on. "Ugly American" bonus applies to 2019 DSCDP hits. Don't presume all picks should be "Born in the USA" -- Yuri Luzhkov, David Bellamy and Marie Fredrikkson are among the most recent scoring hits.
-
yikes. at least I have company.
-
I'm looking forward to this team being in the DSCDP Top 20 for average points per member from home solos and site-wide solos. I doubt 100% of us would confer prior to selection, but it'd be nifty if we could each pick a solo centenarian for quick but limited points.
-
Yes. But AFTER the Funeral Home launches (from January 15 on), excepting Trade Days (15th of each month), Mourners can see fellow Mourners' lists in their Funeral Home. One can also see an alphabetized list (First Name) of all celebrities selected in the entire Funeral Home.
-
Everyone picks twenty celebrities from the DSCDP Database, plus up to five alternates per Funeral Home. The twenty do not need to be unique to each Funeral Home, but 25 bonus points go to Solo picks that are hits. Solo entries have green Solo flair. A site-wide solo nets a Mourner 100 points. Assorted bonuses are awarded for cases like murder, daily doubles, suicide, dying on one's birthday, and a bonus voted upon by the populace the year before.

Interestingly, last week we in the North American Scrabble community were informed former tournament champion David Gibson died 22 November of cancer. From Wikipedia:

Another reason for me not to choose a Plant-based diet. (My brother died at age 44 after losing 60 pounds in six months on a vegan diet. My brother was highly physically active. Steaks and sedentary lifestyle for me, cheers.)
-
A friend who posts on DL infrequently but participated in the Poker Tournament would, I wager, appreciate a DSCDP invite. She's registered for all the 2020 Funeral Homes accepting Mourners. I will DM you her handle ( same DSCDP/ DL).
-
I already have an active DSCDP account, registered for this year -- username is my DeathList handle spelled backward, but if your Funeral Home is by invite-only, my interest is keen. Thank you for offering to register a funeral home!
