I've returned after a sesquicentennial celebration in the Colonies, and as promised to Shaun of the Dead (sd), I'm revealing the name I read in an anonymous gossip forum of the MP who's been seen regularly visiting the hospital and is suspected by someone who's not a doctor (and doesn't have access to her health files) to have cancer: Diane Abbott.

If not taken already, I claim Walter Mirisch. I have him on a DP elsewhere, so I'm feeling "lucky".

Will you give us a name after the deadline? Yes. Direct message me please with a reminder to reveal after July 12 on the By-Election Bingo topic. I'm going on hols (digital detox, no internet) as of June 28.

List delivered in PM. ETA: This is an online, anonymous source, so it's worth the paper it's printed on, but one MP probably on every By-Election Bingo player's list has been seriously ill. A doctor friend of the source who lives in the MP's constituency said he believes the illness is cancer and has seen the MP regularly at the hospital he works at. A Freebie if you trust online anonymous sources once in a while.

Thanks for that. With so many names (there might be 500), I was bound to at least miss one. First at the list of 10: Dina Merrill. May 23 NYTimes Obit

I thought this would be a fun challenge. To help with my research, I asked my UK friends, each in a separate county, if they'd be surprised if an MP in their county had been under police investigation, was charged, and had to give up her or his seat. Unanimous 'no'. I may try a random generator for names as well.

New Here And Just Saying Hello
Torva Messor replied to football_fan's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Hello! Longtime lurker, first time poster. Off-and-on dead pool participant since 1997. What took me so long? Good or even tepid DP chat is harder to come by for me elsewhere. Love the forums for research and banter. Last week's UK election news and commentary have been extensive and amusing enough where I now feel almost informed to understand the UK political posts. Despite the avatar, I am female and drink coffee. Like Buster Keaton's character in "The Railrodder", I ended up at Canada's west coast and now cavort, dally and mope depending on the seasons on both sides of the 49th parallel. (I vote in Canada's federal elections. I claim no responsibility for the US political climate.) Happy to be here, and thankful for the help the forum's given me in this year's dead pools.
