Was vaguely interested in the chronological spread of our top 10, so here they are in order, including how long they were no.1: Madonna — Vogue - April-May ‘90 – 4 weeks Adamski – Killer - May-June ‘90 – 4 weeks Shakespeare’s Sister – Stay – February-April ‘92 – 8 weeks Tasmin Archer – Sleeping Satellite - October ’92 – 2 weeks Ace Of Base – All That She Wants - May-June ’93 – 3 weeks Coolio ft. L.V. – Gangsta´s Paradise - October-November ’95 – 2 weeks The Fugees – Killing Me Softly - June-July ’96 – 5 (4 + 1) weeks White Town – Your Woman - January ’97 – 1 week No Doubt – Don’t Speak - February-March ‘97 – 3 weeks Fatboy Slim – Praise You - January ’99 – 1 week Some observations of varying interest: Vogue and Killer were no. 1 consecutively, so clearly we love the spring of 1990. Killing Me Softly was the Grover Cleveland, its run interrupted by one week of Three Lions at no.1. No songs from ’91, ’94 or ’98, two each from ’90, ’92 and ’97. Time spent at no.1 trends down as the decade wore on, as we saw in the sheer number of shit hit singles we waded through in recent weeks. Is it just me, or are these mostly slower, more mellow tracks? Nothing is especially poppy or high energy. -

Joe Biden's dementia must be catching. I've now corrected my date -
My American friend (liberal Democrat, frustrated with the party) who I talk politics with agreed with me that Harris wouldn't have a hope of getting the presidency if she was standing on her own merit. Could she be edging into being seen as a detriment to the ticket though, if people consider that she has a strong possibility of succeeding through Biden's death or incapacity? Let's face it, her odds improve every day, while her public perception seems to range between indifference and active dislike. Incidentally I had completely forgotten about Hillary's running mate, and I have had to look up what his surname is

The gerontocracy is definitely starting to show. If the US had an equivalent of the October Revolution Day parade then you'd see a similar grey lineup to the one the USSR had along Lenin's Tomb in its twilight years.

I initially forgot to add the date, but in my defence the two before me didn't do it either. -

I saw that too and had the same reaction! That would be quite the ticket. Would make Trump look like a vision of youth and vitality.

I voted for Le Pen. Take that, Macron!

Almost as much as Trump does, I'm sure.

Officially running for re-election. A gruelling task for anyone, and his health is going to be constantly scrutinised.

I'm touched. Maybe I'll listen to some underrated Backstreet Boys album filler tracks in gratitude. -

Sudan has great mineral wealth, a growing economy and a population of over 45 million. Hardly inconceivable that people might want or need to go there for reasons of business, teaching, charity work, etc. etc. -

As the outfit suggests, it was actually 220 years ago. -

Looks like a blend of previous versions with the incorrect Armand van Helden score and the pathetic dig in the Manics title. -
Might as well mention Len Goodman here for completeness.
