Well, I think not every state leader can qualify as a despot. Moi, Mugabe and Kaunda definitely were despots as they had an authoritarian rule but not sure for others especially if someone was just a Prime minister in presidential system. I can totally relate to this, but have in mind that a lot of other African leaders who died in their 50s and 60s had this same cult of immortality and special powers. It seems to be a form of personality cult in countries with low educated population.
