André Lajoinie dead at 94. +16 for my french list.

I’ll join. Can you give the previous hit for every winner of this Game ?

For sure : Frankie Valli Joel Grey (looked real frail in last apperances, wouldn’t bet on him making it to 2026) John Williams Lee Grant James Ivory Yayoi Kusama (weelchairbound if I remember correctly but still active..) King Salman Tippi Hedren Isabel Peron (did look frail earlier this year and too many times overlooked, meets the fame criteria) Don King Amartya Sen and for god’s sake : EVA MARIE SAINT Maybe : Sophie Kinsella (does she meet the fame criteria ? Never heard of her before this diagnosis and those young terminally ill people are not my personal cup of tea for the official DL, doesn’t seem like the kind to be picked either) George Soros Berry Gordy/ Clive Davis Gabriel Matzneff (maybe too french-centered ? Paedo and author 89 next year, and I’m sure I saw somewhere that he had terminal cancer, maybe some French alumni can help there ?)

it has been one of the most camp move of French politic life of the last 40 years, a real scandal at the time and is always regularly discussed nowadays, I suggest you search for the pictures, they're real fun.

Ran into this other French deahtlist a few years ago. It's the first year they did this good, I suggested a few names to them last year which were included. Interestingly enough, they got Patrice Lafont right even though he died of a sudden heart attack without prior health scare. Wonder if we might get in touch with them for a crossover…

Ahah doesn’t look that old right ? Anyway 103, my bad*

Edgar Morin… not dead, looking fantastic (if not a little thinner and speaking slower ?) on live TV a week or two ago at 193

This is not rape. Rape is when you say no or express disagreement and the thing still happens. What you describe is some implicit and vague compromise that everyone once in a while does in a relationship. Rape in a couple exists, should be taken seriously and this is absolutely not what you describe. Again, refer to the ongoing Pelicot trial for example. This is a myth that rape is only commited by stranger in a dark alley. 80-90% of rapes (or something like that ?) are commited by relatives. and still they are subject to criminal conviction.
-
A rape is a rape. There are situations more violent than others but it doesn’t depend on wether it’s coming from a stranger or your husband. Domestic rape can be violent too, you should follow the Pelicot trial for example. I’m not sure there are « better » rape than others to suffer, it depends on individual reactions and characters.

Just stumble on Cynthia Erivo instagram. She lost a ton of weight, that’s concerning at this point… they both need help imo

The X account of some french media states that « he has received extreme onction BUT he is fine and stable » don’t know what that means but yeah maybe a bit premature ?

we're currently organizing our 2025 French list, hoping it'll be as good as this first edition turned out to be ! Last year was so disappointing in terms of french deaths that a lot of lingerers have finally proved to be good calls this year. What impresses me is the quality of hits : almost exclusively A-list and legends scoring this year (Delon, Badinter, Hardy, Presle, De Gaulle, Dumas…) I think we can expect a few more hits (Le Pen being the obvious one right now). A few immortals remain such as Morin, Chirac, Laborde, Chandernargor and Bouvard (who recently withdrew from his monthly radio chronicle due to health problem, 96 in a week or two) which, if they survives the year, bodes well for the future. Let's wait and see ! Obits for Dumont to come (and Delon which I completely forgot…)
-
16th hit : Charles Dumont will le Pen be the 17th ?

Who Stays in 25 - Kill or Save Special

Wheelchair and on oxygen ? Goes with my previous assesments : don’t drop him. As it been reported in his thread ? concerning Brokaw, didn’t know about the news about his cancer progressing. Just didn’t look bas in recent pictures. And Ted Turner… I just don’t care about him at this point, should have died years ago so doesn’t strike me as a imminent faller that’s all -

imho, dropping Imelda Marcos, Buzz Aldrin and Raul Castro is not a great idea… Ted Turner and Tom Brokaw on the other hands doesn't seem at death door yet… Can you make a list of those rejected in order of them eviction ? -
There, She tells that he has been there since thursday and the medical expertise quoted talks about the « deep degradation » of his health
-
Hospitalized since thursday and deep degradation of his health according to his family and Marine. Wonder Why they’re telling it just now…
-
Hers and Woodward’s longevity with such illnesses is quite astonishing. Wonder which one will go first now…
-
Well, 2024 candidates are true survivors. Carter, Eastwood and now Prunella surviving their partners… Even the safest candidates seem to be at risk for next year, drops will be hard to choose

agree with that, just, I feel like much of them are lingerers and could last for (at least) a month more. Wouldn’t be shocked if We have a few more hits but wouldn’t bet on it either, I really think (just feelings) it’s the end. -

what makes you think there are several hits pending ? I think we're done for the year. We could have one or two hits left (Carter, Woodward, Chomsky or Starmer-Smith are the obvious ones) but I doubt we'll have to rearrange our full list… What is at stake here is how to make the 2025 list the most prolific we can because I'm sure the year will be a disaster for DL picks -

I fear letting go Buzz Aldrin will turn out to be a big mistake. Doesn't look the picture of health in the recent pictures of him and looks significantly worse than a year ago. Reminds me of the last pictures of Bacharach or Newhart a while ago...
