that's a big achievement. I'm too an "addictive" persona (former anorexic) so smoking was quite a bad idea from the start, just one cig and it all goes really quickly... Obviously addictive personalities are more likely to start smoking and less likely to ever stop but I'm confident in doing so. Ps : sorry for the spam of the 3 last posts, I wasn't able to quote each of you in the same post for whatever reason…

Yeah, that's why I wanted to quit, I'm asthmatic and had some bad bronchitis last year, basically every two or three months. I felt something was off. I must say I didn't smoke at all in december so that's quite a good start !
-
that's how if begins for everyone right ? I used to only smoked in parties then on break between classes and in the blink of an eye, I was at one pack a day. The first time you buy yourself a pack, it's already too late I think.
-
wow impressing, 4 years without a cig… congrats ! I used to smoke one pack a day last year and now just one or two cig a week so that's a big improvement but still…You're right on saying that if I allow myself one for special occasions, I'll never really quit, I know I have to do it once and for all. But the packs are so cheap in Italy (I'm there for a year) : 5€/pack… it doesn't help

well congrats, another solo hit for you, one point ! James Whale as sub then edit : that puts you in the top 5 with 8 points, tie with gcreptile, wannamaker and Toast and behind Book who scores 12 points

on an other note, what is exactly the "longeviquest" they're talking about ? Is there a site ? how does it function ?
-
I tried to quit smoking for a while now. I decided to only allow myself a cig every time there's an official hit. So if it could happen soon, I'd be particularly grateful

who is this woman : this photo was discovered at the home of Louis Poirson (b. 1962) french serial-killer who killed 4 women and rapped 12 others. This photo shows a naked old lady in a wood by night. The investigators never managed to find her identity and Poirson, who can now apply for his release, has refused to talk about it. Investigators searched for her identity in Germany and in the north of French and Belgium but this is still a mystery.

I’m here for the drama, What did he do !?
-
Chamorro please
-
Oh, great, sorry didn’t know one of them had his own thread !
-
Blondie Chaplin ? member of the Beach Boys who will turn "only" 72 this year but based on this photo from the group 2021 tour, I don't see him making it to 80. Also, is there a thread for the Beach Boys ? Almost all of the original members are still alive but in their early 80. Some of them wouldn't be such bad calls.

Has aged a little but still pretty good imo

Great to see the « no more » option this early. I love optimistic people.

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Just a question related to my previous post : are the deaths of unknown people like you and me (don’t want to offense anyone) reported in local newspaper in UK ? What happen in terms of communication When a lambda person dies ?
-
I know, this is not the point of the post. I’m just trying to figure out if someone out there had a clue about What happened to him at that Time. Nothing more.

I know it was a long time ago but… I’ve just watched season 9 of The Office (american version) and I am concerned about Toby Flenderson’s weigh loss. Paul Liberstein Who portraited him left for several ep in the middle of the seasons and reappered at the end considerably thinner and quite frail. It is really obvious. There was some rumour about cancer but he never talked about it. This article sums it up. Does anyone know What happened to him ?

Well, I know, that's strange... Usually french media are quite slow and don't care a lot about obits. A perfect exemple of that is Dominique Marcas, french actress who died on the 15th of february 2022 aged 101. She didn't score any obit despite 1) her appearance in some of the french most famous movies of the late XXth c. (les grandes vacances, Zig-Zag, Notre Dame de Paris…); 2) being one of the oldest french actresses (with Lucienne Legrand and Dorette Ardenne); 3) having been the supporting actress in a film with the french legend Arletty and 4) having a film were she was the lead role in 2001, so not that late ago. Media were aware of her death as she appeared in "In Memoriam 2022" sort of articles (here and here for example). I think they just simply don't care. Another example is Pierre Parsus, dead at 100 on the 1st of january 2022 who only scored a local obit (so nobody red it) despite having been displayed in some of the most famous french art monument (MUCEM, le Pont du Gard…) This is why I said before (can't remember where) that the whole obsession of obits seemed a little puzzling to me. Ullitzer has probably already scolded me about it but I'm pretty sure France is not very keen on obituaries. Expect for major figures when media wants to be the first ones to break the new (Le Monde is usually one of the first). For Scherer, I guessed an obit would already have been published if they cared about. We'll see in a week or so but it wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't score one.

well… Congrats ! you won this round. Next round opened
-
but… this guy died off radar so it fits this thread right ?
-
Yeah, I know the french names (hello Ullitzer) are not deathlisty ones. Maybe Vanoni and Rotschild are famous enough though
-
