Agree with you about Iggy Pop. I think Morrissey, Aretha Franklin, Axl Rose and Barbra Streisand are better picks than Elton John.

yeah I forgot Streisand and Rose but I totally agree with u, they're more likely to die than John but… who knows ?!

Cher is in this list because of gossips about her health a few years  ago

well... Elton John seems to be a good pick but who knows? There will be another music shocking death before his passing.

yeah, it was what I though about cher : I red some things about her health and the way that she goes but I didn't think it was serious until today :P

May be there will be a shocking death before John, you're right, just like Iggy pop or Bennet

Yes, here is the place for general discussion.

But if you want to start a competition based around 27 Club you might want to make a separate thread for it in Dead Pools.

I'd like to start a new thread competition but I'm afraid to be banned because of my… past with the thread creation :P

I do not see any singers here.

Pixie Lott is headlining our Town festival this summer.

lol, they're all singers and some of them are really good btw

  5. Elton John is a good pick according to the recent tributes that he received (the two honorary discs, a Biopic that will be released, the grammy awards' Tribute…). He was forced to cancel a show back in January due to "health problem". What do you think of it ?

And another question : why Cher is in the list of the possible death ?

  6. but isn't it the right place to discuss the potential next 27 club's member ? I don't think it's rather relevant to discuss it on the Dead Pools area. Does it ?

But last year (or any other year) has no bearing on the results for this year.  It is down to the names selected, nothing else.

this is just a feeling ! the picks of the year make me think that there won't be a lot of death but we'll see at the end of the year. I may be completely wrong.

Yeah, but in 2017 at this point, we’re only at 3 total deaths. The majority of the deaths that helped them break the record didn’t come till August and September, and none of them were truly shocking especially because they died so close to each other. Death doesn’t have a pattern, so saying that you think you found one is incorrect. Eventually there will be a break to the pattern, whether it’s a month with no deaths or a month with many more. There’s a good amount of strong picks that can help break the record as well. Of course, I’m not saying the record will be broken, but if it happens again, it wouldn’t be too surprising...

Yeah I absolutely agree, we can't now if there won't be a month with 3-4 or even 5 deaths, as the september-december period of last year. Of course there is good picks ! but this is just a feeling, I think that after the record of next year, it will be difficult to have a good score this year…

Anyone notice how we seem to be getting one death per month from this years list?

But, about Barbara Bush, I didn't even hear of it until two weeks later when I saw on here. Maybe only the wife of a current president makes big news as such?

this is absolutely why I keep saying that there won't be a lot of deaths this year : at the same period in 2016 we had 6 deaths and even if at the same time last year we had also 4 deaths, the year was absolutely shocking because of the simultaneity of the deaths of the end of the year. This year, if we have one death per month, we will hardly reach 12.

I predict that your membership here won't see 2019.

You know, this is not because we don't agree that it allows u to be mean and disrespectful. Your respect and kindness have obvisouly died à long Time ago..

  13. I predict that there won't be more than 10 deaths this year : bracknell, mccain, Douglas and bush may not reach the year but for the other one, i don't think there will be any other good hit...

I agree with the names in bold.

The death of Farrugia would be very sad and shocking given he was born in 1962.

U agree with dutronc ! Yes i thought i Made a mistake putting him in my list but now i feel confident ^^ and the other that are not in bold ?
