Martha Levert, the ex-wife of Eddie Levert and the mother of Gerald & Sean Levert, both of whom she outlived, has died. https://myhoustonmajic.com/3361984/martha-levert-dead/ -
Thank you very kindly, though I want to be careful because it's still unofficial. January 15th is the cutoff date for obituaries, to include anyone whose death gets reported in these early days of 2020, but who expired last year. Also be mindful the 25 point bonus for youngest hit of the year is awarded on the 15th, too. Seemingly won't affect me but will change the final overall standings. The 2019 game got off rather quickly and was on a pretty good pace throughout the year. Seemed to take most of November off, until the last week of that month. With more people playing, more hits and fewer solos may have been inevitable. A few daily doubles and year end hits shook things up. And, yes, the 2020 edition already has three hits in three days, with Monarc taking an early lead. Should be another good year, with a comparable number of people playing.

I would like to return for 2020.

Good luck to all for the 2020 AO Deadpool. As with last year, I'm keeping my list to myself while revealing the rejected picks from the initial list submitted. There were four of them for 2020. They were: 1) Derek Aucoin 2) Levi Holley 3) Jeremy Marshall 4) Sabrina Sultana Of last year's 13 rejected picks from the initial list submitted, 7 did die. Also, 1 of 2 rejected replacement picks are no long breathing as of the start of this year.

I believe 15 is the magic number.

Thoughts and Opinions on the 2020 List

This past year showed picking almost exclusively old people for the list could be more successful than expected. That being said, I don't see the logic in Dick Van Dyke being near the top of the list. He's still a working actor and in good health for a nonagenarian. https://www.thevintagenews.com/2019/12/24/dick-van-dyke/ -
Richard Ivey, a Canadian philanthropist and co-founder with his father of the Ivey Foundation, which has made charitable grants of $100 million since its inception in 1947, has died. He was 94. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/london/richard-macaulay-ivey-dies-at-94-1.5411382

Leon Spinks. Just as I was contemplating who to pick, a Boxing Day sale commercial for Leon's (Canadian furniture store) was airing on TV. Figured that was a sign. (Would've been my choice, anyway.)

Sent my list in on Tuesday as I knew I'd be away until the 30th and be busy with other stuff. Four rejected picks only this time. (Maybe I didn't try hard enough.) Will reveal them next week. Four replacement picks accepted last night.
