He's not listed in my source book (Pro Wrestling Illustrated 1997 Almanac) for the event, but I do see him in the Wikipedia entry. Therefore, I stand corrected on this entry. In fact, none of the Clash of Champions events have a card with all participants still alive. The many bookings of Tom Zenk, Brad Armstrong, Big Van Vader and Rick Rude helped secure that.

Confirmed. This does not include the Clash of Champions specials, of which there is at least one (Clash of Champions XXVII) with an entirely still living card.

I, too, appear to be woefully ignorant of circumstances. Just read the Wikipedia synopsis. I bet he was an interesting fellow.
-
Wouldn't be surprised.

He was scheduled for a series of concerts in France in July. Chose him because of his January 2017 stage IV colon cancer diagnosis. I was burned in last year's deadpool after dropping Bryan Murray, who I'd had in 2016. Of course, he was also done in by stage IV colon cancer. http://henrybutler.com/shows/

Not officially a hit just yet, but I did have Henry Butler in the deadpool. Have submitted the one current online obit, from the New Orleans Times-Picayune, for consideration. Will let everyone know when I hear any news. Edit: He's officially a hit. A duet for Gerard Tierney and myself.

Paul Obis, the founder of 'Vegetarian Times' magazine, has died at age 66. Ironically, Obis was only mostly a vegetarian, as he apparently liked a good steak. I guess that falls in the 'somewhat pregnant' category of rationalization. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/vegetarian-times-founder-who-later-liked-a-good-steak-has-died-at-age-66-2018-07-02
