Not good . A few factors at play. Wright's last TV/movie acting credit is 2005, though he's had at least one more recent theatrical credit. He's had issues with the bottle, including two arrests. Became a widower in 2017 after 52 years of marriage. As for his most famous role, both actress Anne Schedeen (who played his TV wife) and he have not-so-fond memories of the show. Her IMDB bio says the long days and difficult personalities of (unnamed) co-stars was to blame, his is nonspecific and only indicates he hated working on the set.

If you can wait until January 1st, I'll name the rejected picks for whom I had to select replacements. It'll give you an idea of the threshold of fame required for a pick to qualify.

Revision of my announcement on rejected picks. Due to confusion over one selection - given there were two gentlemen who might've fit the description - one previously rejected pick has, upon clarification, been accepted. Therefore, I had 13 rejected picks, along with two disallowed substitute picks.

Just part of running the pool, I suppose. He did make it clear in the revised rules arguing about picks is his second-least favourite issue, so I keep that in mind when I receive his rulings about eligibility. Especially important because his least favourite is the issue of qualifying obituaries and, on that matter, I will send multiple examples to try and get a hit confirmed when an initial source is rejected. That hasn't always endeared me to whomever has run the pool at any given time. At least 2018 was calm for all parties concerned.

It's a learning process. First year I played the alt.obituaries deadpool, I hadn't understood the research people do to get their lists. As a result, I finished in the bottom 15. I was better prepared the next year and each subsequent one.

Of the 40 names on my original list, 38 have a Wiki page. Still, I wasn't surprised at most of the names that were rejected.

The threshold also seems to increase with each year. Names that would've once been acceptable are no longer such. Nice to see someone new to the pool. Best of luck.

Good luck to all. After a couple of requested revisions, my team was confirmed yesterday. Now, we wait until the appointed hour.

    Hospitalised!

There are a couple of other individuals waiting for transplants who I've considered for deadpools this year and one who I took a chance on last year, but who did get the needed organ donation and who has lived happily ever after.

    Hospitalised!

He'd been on my tentative list for the 2019 AO Deadpool (hence the bracketed comment). I guess it depends on whether people are willing to take a chance on someone who, if they get their transplant, almost becomes a non-deadpool factor for the rest of the year.

    Boxing Clever?

The article would've probably referenced Roland La Starza, who passed on that year. However, I've been able to find another opponent, Carmine Vingo, who died June 12th, 2015. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carmine_Vingo
