Attempt at Aussie fame rankings (it really depends on age though - older people will know Vera Lynn better than they know Tina Turner, for instance. Clive James would probably have been ranked higher in the past when he was on television more often, Stirling Moss when he was racing, Chirac when he was in office, etc):

    1. Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh
    2. Bob Hawke
    3. Jimmy Carter
    4. Mikhail Gorbachev
    5. Kirk Douglas
    6. Olivia De Havilland
    7. Dick van Dyke

    8. Doris Day
    9. Robert Mugabe
    10. Henry Kissinger

    11. Desmond Tutu
    12. Clive James

    13. Alan Greenspan
    14. Hosni Mubarak
    15. Jacques Chirac

    16. Harry Belafonte

    17. Vera Lynn

    18. Tina Turner

    19. Cleo Laine

    20. Vanessa Redgrave
    21. Honor Blackman

    22. Little Richard

    23. Stirling Moss
    24. Murray Walker

    25. Sidney Poitier
    26. Prunella Scales

    27. Javier Perez de Cuellar
    28. Betty White
    29. Pierre Cardin

    30. Emperor Akihito
    31. Barbara Walters
    32. Larry King
    33. Bob Dole

    34. Loretta Lynn
    35. Ginger Baker
    36. Valery Giscard d'Estaing
    37. Ed Asner
    38. Valerie Harper
    39. June Brown
    40. Bob Barker
    41. Nobby Stiles

    42. Herman Wouk
    43. Jerry Stiller

    44. Gordon Banks
    45. Jimmy Greaves
    46. Tony Britton
    47. John McCririck
    48. Leah Bracknell
    49. Johnny Clegg
    50. Shane MacGowan

Is Fairytale of New York not played there at christmas? As if it is then Shane MacGowan surely is more well known than a few others even if it's not by name.

Perry will portray Wayne Maunder in Tarantino's upcoming Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Maunder died in October 2018 while the movie was being filmed. Burt Reynolds, who would have had a major part, died in September 2018. The movie has not been released and it is already cursed!

I am going to say Roman Polanski dies sometime between now and Oscar night (if the film is nominated for any.)

SC's attempt at a scoreboard: (be gentle with your insults and complaints, I have a weak constitution):

SO first let's review the deaths that mattered.

    2. Also I am going by date posted, I"m not chasing down actual dates of deaths, but will amend quite obviously if pointed out.
    3. Also please excuse my Americanization of the dates, I would have conformed but my DNA didn't allow for it. (actually I didn't notice till too late LOL)

I'd say guaranteed. Might need to wait a few days, but a Pritzker winner will definitely get a Times or Guardian obit.

In the end he made it to Sky News and got an LBC breaking news tweet.

A stunt double was used for her scenes going into the pub on Thursday. She was back last night but her character has now gone back to Ireland; her breaks seem to be getting more and more frequent as she was off most of last year as well. Of course this could just be because of her age, but her health does seem to be on the decline slowly

Eastenders facebook page suggested she had left for good but that feels unlikely and doesnt fit with how Dot explained her exit.

Things are pretty slow at the moment so here is a list of the 10 earliest living winners of the Pulitzer Prize dor best novel. Starts with a familiar DL face

    1952 Herman Wouk (1915)

    1965 Shirley Ann Graw (1929)

    1969 N Scott Momaday (1934)

    1983 Alice Walker (1944)

    1984 William Kennedy (1928)

    1985 Alison Lurie (1926)

    1986 Larry McMurty (1936)

    1988 Toni Morrison (1931)

    1989 Anne Tyler (1941)

    1992 Jane Smiley (1949)

The only one other than Wouk who I think has main list potential ast some point in the future is Alice Walker.  Not sure the other even if they reach extreme old age.

For example, Drol, few years back someone would have mentioned by now that June Brown had to miss the location filming for Dr Legg's funeral (on health grounds according to ITK folk), only appearing briefly in the Elstree set, and having large parts of her dialogue* (ie written early December for her) handed over to her who plays Sonia instead.

*including important stuff for the character, given Leonard Fenton only returned to die to give June Brown a storyline.

5 years ago this would have produced 2 pages of "she's on her last legs" posts rapidly approaching that final Dead.

Instead it goes unmentioned, and there's no discussion of the DL50, just birthday mentions, death notices and "are they dead yet?" mentions. Soulless stat collecting.

    I'm rather grumpy today.

It's hard to tell. It seems they filmed the interior stuff which she attended after when the location stuff was filmed (because that was filmed mid December as confirmed in newspaper reports) so what ever made her miss those scenes was not overtly serious.  She has vanished again now and next week is said to be in Ireland but she always has a break starting on screen in February.

  8. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linda_Henry

Eastenders actress currently down as dead on Wiki Dying of a stroke. I suspect an hoax as the account has only been a member three days and did some random Eastenders and Greatest Dancer edits before this one nearly two hours ago.

21.19 Her character page was also edited at the same time but that has been deleted.

21.42. Maybe not an Hoax afterall. A different user claimed to have spoken to her husband but that has been rejected due to no public source.

Saw her on tv giving an interview in response to the labour defections.Have to say she looks remarkably good for an 88 year old.  No point in having her on the list for a while !

No sign of Bill Rodgers though so he could be in much frailer health.

Gave a quote to his local newspaper but no pictures or radio/television appearance.
