Thanks Great Uncle Bulgaria for the February match and best of luck to Chorizo for our March one.

I'd like to make a request based on a few wagers I anticipate making this afternoon. Can my byline be changed from "Hatchet Man" to "Insane Gambler"? If so, please do. I would appreciate it.
-
@Joey RussI imagine you've seen it, but my list should be in.

When is the deadline for submission? Apologies if I missed a previous post.

Thanks for the evening reading. Perhaps I've just lost my ass in too many card games.

Plenty of time left and with the monthly opportunity for course correction, the game is there for the taking. The law of averages is surely about to come back and bite me.

Who will win the Democratic Nomination for President in 2020?
HDS replied to Joey Russ's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Anyone but Sanders and Biden would consider it. I know it’s a long shot, but I think her ambition is unrelenting. If she sits this one out, she won’t have a chance again. -
Hate to take the chalk, but I’ll go with Trebek. Pro: We get near daily updates. Con: Updates are usually Delayed a few months. To be fair, I own a piece of each one several places, but many more shares of Trebek.

Who will win the Democratic Nomination for President in 2020?

Online odds to win the Democratic nomination. For entertainment purposes only. Sanders 11/10 Bloomberg 5/2 Mayor Pete 5/1 Biden 10/1 Klobuchar 15/1 Clinton 20/1 Warren 25/1 Obama 100/1 Steyer 150/1 Perhaps an outlandish prediction, but I could see Hillary waiting for everyone else to beat each other up in the battle royale before sweeping in late and taking the nomination. Hell, I'll throw a dart. -
It's usually a few months. An article discussing an episode that aired earlier this week claims it was taped in November. https://www.hometownlife.com/story/life/community/observer/canton/2020/02/05/canton-woman-competes-jeopardy-game-show/4664355002/

I think I may have been the one that missed something. I wasn't sure if posting a full video here was acceptable or not, so I went with the summary.

Indeed. His fear of dying in a gulag might come to be...if he's well enough to work.

Perhaps a better written explanation for Jordan Peterson: https://nationalpost.com/news/jordan-petersons-year-of-absolute-hell-professor-forced-to-retreat-from-public-life-because-of-tranquilizer-addiction/amp

Not sure if this has been covered elsewhere, but a video was posted to Dr. Jordan Peterson's YouTube channel by his daughter with an update on his health. There is a lot to unpack. He apparently suffered a "paradoxical reaction" to an increased dose of medication. He has been in tremendous pain due to dependence and withdrawal symptoms so severe he was "suicidal". At one point, he developed pneumonia and has spent a month in intensive care. The family expects "a full recovery" for him but say he still has "a ways to go." Not sure if I would hazard violating forum policy by linking the video, but you can easily search it yourself if you wish.

I’m actually pleased to learn this. I’d have reservations about claiming something this flimsy. For future reference, I assume the problem would be with the content and not the “obit” source, yes?

Less is more... https://www.independent.com/obits/2020/02/04/john-murray-ridland/ Would have been a dubious pick by me, indeed.

For a guy who published a bunch of books, taught at the same university for over 40 years, and can't get an obituary (or mention of his passing at all) in the local or university paper, he must have been a real jerk.

Thanks! My first year in the cup and bound to make some rookie mistakes. Note to self: no matter how foreboding and busy one's workweek appears, never again submit your cup list 5 days in advance.

Still a dominant player in the twilight of his career. Good fight. RIP.

Surely one in the university's mind. And named a First Team All-American by Playboy Magazine. Can't believe they buried the lead.

I’ve watched enough hockey in my time and know enough bands people think are American. I might give it a go.
