If she is still here in 2025...A glioblastoma, diagnosed 2 years ago: https://www.sophiekinsella.co.uk/news/sharing-some-news/

As you would know had you read the obit, she was exonerated https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/feb/12/mismanagement-claims-kids-company-founder-thrown-out-camila-batmanghelidjh

Cher? She's trying to put a conservatorship in place for her son, so I doubt it

Same logic from me for Jean M. Auel... though 87 rather than 90, I think.

Antonia Fraser also sounding like a good bet.... https://www.newstatesman.com/the-weekend-interview/2023/07/antonia-fraser-interview-historian-popularity

The marketing campaign for the most recent novel has felt very... valedictory. Though, yes, it's not as if he writes a novel a year. Though as part of the marketing round for Baumgartner Siri Hustvedt (wife) did an interview or two where it would really be much more usual for the writer himself to have done them... Let's just say, I am not getting positive vibes.

Wouldn't be surprised if Paul Auster (cancer; talking up his most recent novel as if it may be his last) doesn't see 2024 out

Gianluca Vialli

Fay Weldon, at spot 48 on my list, has gone.

I have my eye on Caroline Graham... 89 years old and hasn't written a new novel in 16 years. Ten years ago was writing a novel that never materialised. No news on health for a very long time but surely not long left. -

Alan Bennett, perhaps? https://www.theguardian.com/books/2020/dec/23/alan-bennett-2020-diary-reveals-growing-health-struggles -
Is he actually ill? Or just 81?
