    Queen Elizabeth II

    I'm not quite sure what to think of what's unfolded over the last week. One part of me thinks it's just her age catching up to her, which isn't surprising. But another part is somewhat concerned, especially given how it's come about just a matter of months after the death of her lifelong partner.

    Well, I thought he'd reach 100 after leaving hospital.

    @Roy_Al Why can't you keep everything in one post?

    It'd be sods law if everybody reports that it's good that he's left hospital, then the Palace announces he's returning home to receive palliative care.

    I'm a bit too young to have heard of him. However, it sounds like he lived a good life. May he rest in peace.

    Looking back, the last update we received was when he returned to King Edward VII Hospital on the 5th. We were told at the time that he'd be staying there for "a number of days". I suppose you could describe the period he's been in for as a number of days, but I'd have thought we'd have received another update in the mean time, even if it was just saying that he is slowly recovering and expects to leave in a couple of weeks.

    I was just thinking that a lot of people were gonna be disappointed. I do wonder if we'll hear something soon though. They can't keep quiet about the issue forever.

    Fair enough, but maybe don't spam the thread with a half-dozen posts.

    @Roy_Al You OK?

    When was the last time we had an update, because it feels like we haven't heard anything in ages?

    How on Earth has he not left hospital or snuffed it yet? He looked like he was a stubbed toe away from turning to dust after his last visit.

    I'm surprised an update on Philip has been given, especially give that they probably want Meghan out the headlines.

    That advice about keeping black clothing items on hand won't be new. They always have them on standby. However, there will likely have been a reminder notice sent out.

    I'm surprised that he was in a good enough condition to undergo the surgery.

    Is there any evidence for that, because I always thought it was an urban myth.

    Not the first time a broadcaster has had obit-related finger trouble.

    I'd have thought the PA would distribute the news with a short embargo so that all broadcasters could activate their obit procedures.

    Given today's development's, I'm torn. I completely agree that if he does reach 100, it'll be by the skin of his teeth. However, considering how it's gone from "observation" to "infection" to "heart condition", I'm thinking that he probably won't make it.

    Yep. Provided that the tweet is embedded, it'll stay there, even if the tweet is deleted. The only difference is that it'll appear in plain text, as opposed to the regular style for an embedded tweet.
