Surprised he's on the 2024 list, but what do I know, I thought Elizabeth II would live to 100. He had a recent personal tragedy, but he seems in pretty good shape for his age otherwise.
-
She's finally gone, certainly feels like the end of an era. Doubt we'll ever see anyone quite like her again. I genuinely hope Charles III does a good job and wish him all the best, that's a tough act to follow.
-
He looked like a living corpse the the last few years, however. All the Queen has done is lose a bit of weight and gained some mobility issues. She could easily live a few more years yet, her Mum used a stick for almost a decade.
-
As far as we know she's still performing her official duties, still meeting with the PM, still meeting with other dignitaries and, most importantly, is not going senile She's just offloading the more ceremonial stuff to the younger Royals. Seems perfectly logical to me in view of her advanced age. We hope that all it is is "mobility issues" (I'll be happy to be breathing at 96!) and not a cover up for something more serious, but honestly she just looks old and frail and not a living corpse like Prince Philip did near the end of his life. So yeah, it'd be nice if she was seen out and about even if it was in a wheelchair and I don't think many people would begrudge a very old lady wanting to use one, but it's all about the image I guess.
-
Speak for yourself, I think you'll find most people are totally fine with it.
-
Exactly, she's getting old and her joints are stiff, even admitted it to that old dear a few months ago. You'll not find many people in their mid 90s without mobility issues.
-
And, just like her Mother refused to be seen in public with one so will the Queen. The news would have a field day if that happened.
-
Oh, I'm aware, didn't stop multiple friends calling me to ask if I'd heard the news (as the go to English ex-pat I'm apparently the expert on Royal affairs even though I emigrated 23 years ago). I had to remind them that when she finally goes it's going to hit all of the major news sites more or less simultaneously.

It's a tabloid rag here in the US, I wouldn't pay much attention. Of course, I will be here to eat my humble pie if it turns out they're correct.
-
She's certainly looking a little frailer in the most recent pictures and has lost weight, we'll chalk that up to grief and being 95. Other than that still seems as healthy as ever. Her Mum looked about the same at this age, I'd be astounded if she didn't make it to 100.
-
She looked shockingly thin in the Christmas Broadcast, it was very obvious she was caked in makeup too to make her look presentable. It's very sad to see how much she aged in 1 year, Prince Philip's death has take a huge toll on her. In any case, I think she'll hang on long enough to get her Platinum jubilee and not "spoil the party" so I think she'll be around next Christmas.
-
Number 1? Well, I thought Betty White would easily hit 100 and she died yesterday, so who knows.
-
Well that's a shock, I figured she'd easily make it to 100. A life well lead.
-
I think it's just the angle and the dress. Barring her getting some illness she'll easily live to 100.

Prince Charles in nominally the Duke of Edinburgh now, but it's apparently been promised to Edward eventually. Presumably they'll switch to one of those.
