The vast majority of zoos, at least here in the US, are accredited wildlife conservation organizations that largely only showcase animals that lack the ability to survive in the wild if they were released. The image of zoos being little better than circuses in how they treat their animals is very outdated IMO.

But to the point - host Jon Taffer has taken several episodes off this season with seemingly no explanation. Taffer will be 70 in November, and every thing about his lifestyle and persona screams “massive heart attack before 80”
