Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't say Parkinson is a non-entity over here. I've known of him as long as I can recall, and he got NYT/WaPo/CNN etc. obits pretty much immediately. Looking at the associated records of this Vi Goldberg, there's no way it isn't the sax player (she lived in a Palmdale, CA house with an Alfred Avelino, and you can find plenty of sources saying she called herself Vi Avelino), but here's what cinches it: Here's a few videos uploaded by a Jamal Meeks about his grandma, Vi Redd. Way too risky. I've said before in this thread I think he probably has some time left, but at his age he could die from anything at any second (like his buddy Carl Reiner, who looked great for his age and died instantly after he tripped and fell). Not to mention, he seems completely ready for death judging from stuff like this. There's also the fact that the DL has never dropped a centenarian, afaik, outside of the Nation of Islam woman.

Camacho Quirós didn't have English or Spanish Wikipedia pages until she was 110, so her notability outside of her age is pretty slim. Then again, the bar is low enough to be underground with supercentenarians "famous" for reasons outside of being old AF.
