    Hollywood Possibilities

Mildly old news by now, but doesn't seem like it was noted on here: Actor Barry Corbin was fighting oral cancer over the summer. Turned 82 last month. Googling around shows a recent update in People. Says he had surgery, feared losing his voice, but seems generally out of the woods now even though his doctor says he'll be a "patient for life". Doesn't seem like he'll die imminently, but perhaps one to watch for 2024+. (He's already a DDP pick.)

    Gone With The Wind

Hollywood Reporter obit for Mickey Kuhn.
  3. Old people talk like that all the time. Off the top of my head, John Lithgow, James Hong, and Norman Lear have all had similar quotes recently. More than likely doesn't mean anything beyond them stating the obvious that they're not gonna be around forever.

    The Stars Of B-cinema

Albert Pyun is "in his final days" and receiving in-home hospice care per his wife's FB. (Kind of surprised he seems to only have one prior mention on this site given that he's been seriously ill with MS and dementia for about a decade now.)

    20th Century Americans Sitcoms

I notice that Wikipedia/IMDB claim SNL Downey is the half-brother of Robert Downey Sr. and uncle of Robert Downey Jr. However, this long-standing fact actually appears to have been about the James B. Downey who just died, given that it's in the obituary linked there. What a mess.

    The 100 Club

The article confirming his centenarian status in his Wiki article is a 2021 interview from the Wharton School. He's described in it as their oldest living alumnus, which is a reasonable claim to fame, so I'd expect them to still have tabs on him.

    The 100 Club

Was alive as of September 2021, and was covered in June 2020 and December 2019. So, probably.

    Voice Actors

Kevin Conroy, the iconic voice of Batman, reportedly dead: EDIT: I see he's a DDP pick. There's a lucky punt.

Hollywood Reporter obit. Guessing they read this forum.

    Deadpool Detective Work

Hm... the IP who did this also edited the living centenarians list to remove Tatyana Frutze, citing her Russian wiki article. This was also done in September by an IP who also killed off Lise Nørgaard and Marita Camacho Quirós, citing nothing. If it's the same person, they might have just made it up.

David Davis dead at 86. Writer-producer for The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Taxi, Newhart, etc. Also the partner of actress Julie Kavner since 1976.
  15. Reacting to every post on the forum is a little more than "liking posts". You have to admit it's at least a little funny that he's reacted to almost 400 posts since he was brought up in this thread for it, given that was only a day ago! Do I "hate" him? No he seems like a fine guy and well-meaning and he doesn't seem especially fazed given that he hasn't exactly slowed down on the reactions. (And I'm quite new here, I don't want to be arrogant and tell people what to do.) But given that he's been here less than a month and has already been complained about multiple times, I would at least recommend he didn't unnecessarily mark every single post with the Diego seal of approval so we don't have to discuss him every other week.
  16. 6583 now. Where is he even finding these posts?

    Robert Solow

He's been on my radar, but doesn't strike me as DL-worthy given that he isn't especially famous or known to be ailing. Also, there are a bunch of ancient Nobel laureates out there with no known health problems, so it's probably hard to pick just one of them. Who goes first? Solow? John Goodenough? Yang Chen-Ning? Rudolph A. Marcus? Roger Guillemin? Torsten Wiesel? Esaki?
  18. I don't find it annoying as much as it just confuses me. Why would you need to react to a post to know you have read it? Can't you remember you read it? And wouldn't you just need to mark the most recent post?
  19. Diego has dished out 6221 reactions in just under a month. With a little bit of effort on our parts, I believe we can get this number to 1000000 before the end of the year. EDIT: 6241 now... getting closer...

    The Popes' Pool

Francis is definitely weaker than he used to be, but lately he's back to walking without assistance and has a planned trip to Bahrain in a few days. If he resigns in 2023, I can see him living a few more years.

60s/70s child star Dawn Lyn in a coma "fighting for her life" after undergoing brain surgery.
  22. If people are still in the mood for some more lists/ideas, here are some of my personal coffin teases that haven't been brought up often on this site: Peter Angelos (93, severely ailing for over five years now, too incapacitated to do much of anything according to legal documents and was reportedly on death's door as of 2018) Lowell Weicker (91, frail and dealt with vague "health issues" in late 2019, missed another event this month due to health problems) Walt Brown (96, obese withering US politician who looked 100 years old when he ran for president back in 2004. Seemingly vanished off the face of the earth after 2010) Chris Haughey (97, last living MLB player from 1943 season. Suffered a severe injury in 2019 and has been in assisted living ever since) Barthe DeClements (102, ancient bestselling children's author, has lived in a 24-hour care home for seemingly a few years now) Harvey Carignan (95, decrepit serial killer who could potentially be a year or two older if you take him at his word. Was described as an "invalid" by a prison correspondent back in 2021)

    Dying Off The Radar

Here's one I just learned of a few weeks ago: Oscar- and Emmy-nominated Star Trek art director Joseph R. Jennings died back in 2015 almost completely unnoticed. My search shows one person tweeted about it in December of that year, but that's all I've found so far outside of public records. He really couldn't sneak into a single In Memoriam? His IMDb has been updated since I found out, but he's still in Wikipedia limbo for now.
