Yeah I like the debate. I just find it that it has to be universally accepted that "baby one more time" and "toxic" are great, and I would be happier if those songs were done by a pop star with more agency. Madonna's "frozen" is a great song with a mature direction that she sadly has regressed from. And while Cher's song kicked off a whole awful autotune movement, she herself was just having fun, has proven she can actually sing, and I love the fact that she scored a hit as an older woman. Also she protested the Vietnam War instead of the whole "girls can't have opinions about war, tee hee" gimmick that Britney saddled the rest of us teen girls with. Britney is just an extremely negative 25 years of pop culture for me that I find suspicious. But I'm just supposed to find the songs fun and not notice the very odd things about her career and how it made music a bit dire.

I listen to a wide variety of music, including pop, and a lot of artists have complained about the way Britney records (one syllable at a time) as producers tried to force them to do the same. Then labeled them as "difficult" for not being as malleable as Brit. Britney's music is the kick-off of AI not great musical talent. I find her music, her career, and the repercussions to be creepy.
