    Joe Biden

The Democratic National Committee approved a proposal to change the primary voting schedule: South Carolina first, then Nevada and New Hampshire, followed by Georgia and Michigan, all prior to Super Tuesday (when the majority of states vote). This would be punting Iowa from their long-held supremacy as the first voting state, meaning not having to see 6 months of Democratic candidates eating corn dogs at the State Fair. Also, it's more likely that Biden is the nominee as he performs well with SC and GA. https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/02/politics/dnc-south-carolina-primary-calendar-2024/index.html Bernie Sanders notably did terribly in South Carolina and Georgia in 2016 and 2020. Biden also met with Prince William in Boston today. https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/02/politics/biden-prince-william-boston/index.html

    20th Century Americans Sitcoms

I finished reading Matthew Perry's book. There is also the benzos he's been taking since he was 1 month old; the cigarettes he was told would kill him by 60 if he doesn't quit now (at 53); the handle of vodka he drank daily on set. He's on suboxone for life now. All of his teeth fell out earlier this year. Drug tests have shown he's unknowingly ingested fentanyl. He has a permanent minder. I felt the book was outreach for the public to keep him away from our medicine cabinets if he stops by for an open house tour.

Chris Brown. An American r&b singer who would be A-list except for the fact he beat Rihanna so the public is outraged every time they try to rehabilitate his image. The latest rehabilitation attempt was this past week at the American Music Awards to pay tribute to Michael Jackson, but it was cancelled. He won an award and was booed. Brown is one of those on borrowed-time drug addicts, so the gossip mills are hyping up his imminent demise.

    Sinbad...

I saw Jingle All the Way in theatres. Why isn't someone like Steve Harvey helping him out? Him having to fundraise like this is sad. Steve had this to say about him: "In my early comedy days, I met Sinbad on a park bench in Birmingham, AL. He had a trash bag next to him, $65,000 cash was in the bag. I had only made $5,000 a week, he was making $65,000 a week. He taught me a lesson and I kept hustlin' and I finally got there. Know your worth."

    Sinbad...

I just read the posts above and saw people disputing how famous he is. Honestly, I was surprised he had his own thread; I was going to put him in the comedian one. But he's famous enough in America, that there is a rampant false memory (Mandela effect) about him starring as a genie in a movie called Shazaam. This movie doesn't exist. https://www.vox.com/2016/12/26/14062268/sinbad-genie-movie-science

Sinbad is still in recovery from his stroke 2 years ago, and they just released an action figure to raise money. https://www.instagram.com/p/ClM0cmGPhwc/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=0e790887-8488-482d-a19f-ff7d078562f6

    (C)Rappers

I saw this yesterday but didn't post it because I didn't know where r&b singers go, then got distracted by work. Do they go in the rap thread? (not a dig at you, I am just new here, and I see a lot of r&b deaths and hospitalizations).

    Comedians & Comedy Writers

Jon Lovitz beat him up over it. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/lovitz-beats-up-dick-all_n_56512 It was fight night at an L.A. comedy club last week when Jon Lovitz roughed up Andy Dick over the murder of their "Saturday Night Live" colleague, Phil Hartman. Laugh Factory owner Jamie Masada, who witnessed the assault, said, "Jon picked Andy up by the head and smashed him into the bar four or five times, and blood started pouring out of his nose." Lovitz told Page Six, "All the comedians are glad I did it because this guy is a [bleep]hole." Lovitz and Dick have been at loggerheads since a 1997 Christmas party at Hartman's house, five months before his troubled wife Brynn flipped out, fatally shooting Hartman, then killing herself. "Andy was doing cocaine, and he gave Brynn some after she had been sober for 10 years. Phil was furious about it - and then five months later he's dead," said Lovitz, adding that when he filled in on Hartman's "Newsradio" sitcom, "I told Andy, 'I wouldn't be here now if you hadn't given Brynn that cocaine.' " Last year, Lovitz related, a drunken Dick strolled up to his table at Ago in West Hollywood, rudely downed his guests' peach liqueur drinks, and "looked at me and said, 'I put the "Phil Hartman hex" on you - you're the next one to die.' I said, 'What did you say?' and he repeated it. I wanted to punch his face in, but I don't hit women."

    Aaron Carter

Hilary Duff made a statement regarding it. They used to date when they were teenagers (with him making an appearance on her Disney show Lizzie McGuire). He infamously cheated on her with Lindsay Lohan. A few years back, he openly pined for her as the one who got away. "For Aaron -- I'm deeply sorry that life was so hard for you and that you had to struggle in-front of the whole world. You had a charm that was absolutely effervescent... boy did my teenage self love you deeply. Sending love to your family at this time. I don't support any adultery, whether rape or consensual. He should have taken his position more seriously. The affairs and that impeachment made America vulnerable to terrorism: https://www.baltimoresun.com/news/bs-xpm-1998-08-23-1998235021-story.html "Clinton's airstrike motives questioned. Many wonder if attack was meant to distract from Lewinsky matter." That's how people viewed his attacks on Al Qaeda in 1998.

I see what point you're trying to make now. I'm surprised that Obama wasn't impeached, but Former Speaker Boehner does say he regrets the Clinton impeachment so that could be why. “In my view, Republicans impeached him for one reason and one reason only — because it was strenuously recommended to us by one Tom DeLay,” Boehner writes, according to the Times. “Tom believed that impeaching Clinton would win us all these House seats, would be a big win politically, and he convinced enough of the membership and the G.O.P. base that this was true.” So my position wasn't that he was impeached for a blowjob, but rather he was impeached because he was a Democrat and that is why I equate the two. I don't think the GOP really cared about sexual affairs at all, besides how embarrassing it was. And they already tried to accuse Biden of it during the election, when that Putin fangirl accused him of rape.

    Hospitalised!

Couldn't find an r&b post so I'm putting it in here: Al B. Sure's son says his dad was in a coma for 2 months. Searching comments I found out that he had galbladder surgery.

It violates the Federal Rules of Evidence. Starr also was charged for violating legal ethics. From wiki: Because Starr's office allegedly leaked portions to press about sexual details that were mentioned in his report, he was criticized for using the scandal as a political maneuver and was charged for violating legal ethics by presenting information irrelevant to an investigation as evidence of legal wrongdoing. Also, it is unclear whether Starr had the legal authority to ask Clinton questions about his sexual relationship with Lewinsky, as the OIC was convened solely to investigate Whitewater and Paula Jones' claim that Clinton sexually harassed her. Questioning about a sexual relationship void of assault appears to be both irrelevant under the Federal Rules of Evidence (FRE) as a whole and under Rule 413, which allows questioning about separate allegations of sexual assault (which was never asserted about Lewinsky's relationship with Clinton). The report was also criticized for exaggerating what the legal definition of perjury is, accusing Clinton of committing perjury after only one witness claimed he did so and saying that Clinton lied when he said he did not have sexual relations with Lewinsky in terms described by Paula Jones' attorneys. Two of the three parts of the definition of "sexual relations" described by Jones' attorneys during her lawsuit had been ruled out by presiding Judge Susan Webber Wright as "too broad" and legally unacceptable. I agree he just shouldn't have answered the question. The Starr Report was smut.

    Joe Biden

Starr Report was open-ended, but its origins were in the Whitewater deal. If the Republicans gain control of the House, there will be an endless open impeachment investigation against Biden to find anything, much like what happened with Clinton. The House needs a simple majority to impeach. It will fall along party lines. To remove, the Senate would need 2/3. As far as we all know, Biden is not in a position where the Senate would remove him. So even if the House found anything on Biden, much like Clinton, I don't see him being convicted of high crimes, misdemeanors, treason, or bribery. Nixon had a lot of that though, so he resigned to avoid it.

It's not perjury. It's not even agreed upon whether he lied, because the definition they provided him didn't fit the situation. I'm aware that he should have refused to answer. Perjury means (a) knowingly (b) making a false statement (c) about material facts (d) while under oath. It’s not perjury if you honestly believe what you’re saying is true, or if your lie is irrelevant to the issue you’re under oath about.

It's not perjury. Perjury is lying about a material fact. What does any of that have to do with a real estate deal?

    Joe Biden

Impeachment is for high crimes and misdemeanors, treason, and bribery. But Clinton's impeachment trial was a weird one because how was it any of those? So they definitely can shoehorn some issue onto Biden like that, but they're not going to have 2/3 of Senate agreeing.

    Joe Biden

The Senate would have to then remove Biden, and I don't think they're interested in doing so. Nixon resigned because the Senate was interested in doing so. The Supreme Court ruled against him. And his Cabinet and advisors weren't cooperating with him. He was drunk off his ass in meetings, and threatening to drop nukes. Everyone was pushing him out of office.

    The 12th Death of 2022

Alan Greenspan. Seems like someone in politics always dies around election season, and I don't get the vibe it's going to be a huge name like Carter or Kissinger or Cheney. People still semi-regularly talk about those 3.

    Hollywood Possibilities

It's common in America, particularly in states like Oklahoma where Elizabeth Warren is from. It's usually a folktale handed down by the family, about their great-great grandparents. So they're not exactly lying, even though it's not true. Usually they claim Cherokee, due to the infamy of the Trail of Tears. Johnny Depp, Miley Cyrus, and Johnny Cash are other examples. I think Heather Locklear is actually Native American (Lumbee tribe). To the extent of Sacheen Littlefeather or Iron Eyes Cody (the Crying Indian), no that is extremely bizarre. To get college subsidies, you'd have to be an official member of a tribe and go through the tribe's education department.

In addition to the unsubstantiated Parkinson's/cancer, there has been signs with his nihilistic behavior, his face has mooned out (likely from steroids), gripping the table during meetings, and there was a widely reported surgery mid-May but we don't really know what it was. Not the best source but it compiles a lot of the claims with videos: https://www.newsweek.com/vladimir-putin-cancer-surgery-claimswhat-we-do-know-what-we-dont-1709689
