The general consensus here in Oz is shock - shock that he might actually be held accountable while still alive. Shall we do a sweeps on what diagnoses he's going to get over the next weeks/months that'll disrupt the trial? Dementia's got to be coming in fast. PS one of my claims to infamy is I bumped into him at a restaurant and got a photo with him, which I then posted as a wind-up only to be censored by Meta several months later.

George Negus dead at 82 following Alzheimer's battle. First host of Foreign Correspondent and 60 Minutes. Remember seeing him a lot on TV as a kid, especially on current affairs/news panel shows etc. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-10-15/george-negus-founding-host-of-foreign-correspondent-dies-aged-82/104475208

John Laws (89) has announced his retirement after 71 years on the airwaves. Doesn't seem like the sort of thing he'd do absent of fairly significant health/ageing related factors. John Farnham's (74) voice has been heard publicly for the first time in 2+ years, following his cancer surgery. Doesn't sound too bad considering the circumstances: https://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/victoria/hear-john-farnhams-voice-post-cancer-surgery/video/fcd16f484c1715c7cdbfeb8727ba32cc

Daily Heil reports that his victim's lawyers have compared him to Savile, Epstein and Weinstein and have described the case as "one of the worst cases of corporate sexual exploitation the world has seen". (I'll spare you the link)

Charles caught "snapping" at an aide to help Camilla put her coat on when they caught in the rain: https://www.independent.co.uk/tv/lifestyle/king-charles-queen-camilla-jersey-aide-b2580531.html Of relevance - he's getting quite soaked and there were "very heavy winds". Surely the powers that be wouldn't let him get exposed like that if his condition is super fragile? Suggests he's doing ok imo.

An obscure one, but it's come up in some genealogical research and wondering if we can sort it out [and update WP]. Ellie Seagraves is FDR's eldest grandchild - Wikipedia page Her WP page says "At 97, Seagraves resides with her husband in Maryland." However, in a 2023 interview Ellie says "I had a great husband" and "we were married for 70 years" [my emphasis] - Interview link So one might expect her husband, Van H. Seagraves, to have died 2018/9. I can't find any death info though, and it seems like he's presumed alive by most if not all sources. Any pointers?

Drunken/k-holed convo at the kick ons and half of us remember this and the other half looked at us blankly. Around 2010 I remember we all wore our skinny jeans stupidly low to show off our Calvin Klein pants. I remember walking up steps, especially the steep bus ones, was a huge struggle, and we had to do a kind of legs wide out walk, but we all do it anyway because it was considered the height of coolness (pun intended). Haven't seen this for years but it was definitely a thing around 10-15 years ago beyond just at my university. Or were we just dumber than most and it really is somehow a Mandela effect?

Was this an actual thing circa 2010
TylerTheCreator replied to TylerTheCreator's topic in DeathList extra-curricular
Yeah. I don't really remember anyone my age who didn't do it. For a few years it seemed like British dudes just decided hey, let's wear our jeans under our arse. Was it like a type of mass hysteria like the old dancing plagues or the meowing nuns? I guess I just did it because everyone else was doing it. So yes, in a way. -
Australia has some OLD ass ex-judges (they have to retire at 70 so no RBGing), and they seem to have a real longevity. Sir Anthony Mason (b.1925) - still active in the late 2010s, but since COVID or so the lectures in his name have been given on his behalf by younger judges Sir William Deane (b.1931) - also governor-general Sir Daryl Dawson (b.1933) - probably the quietest, apparently helps judge student competitions but idk how recent that is Michael McHugh (b.1935) - self-made man, wife an ex MP also in her 80s Ian Callinan (b.1937) Murray Gleeson (b.1938) - known ironically as the Smiler, his soul was once described as "a vortex" Michael Kirby (b.1939) - first who was openly gay and state-school educated, still extremely active and popular William Gummow (b.1942) - nearly died from DVT on a flight, became frail after that but still very professionally active Mary Gaudron (b.1943) - involved in some huge court case involving her sister And honourable mention to Wylie Gibbs (b.1922), brother of dead Chief Justice Harry (1917-2005). MP in his own right and 101 now. Not sure if all would QO, but Deane and Kirby in particular would get a lot of coverage.

Yo that's a pretty archaic attitude toward recreational drug use, imo - and I say that as both a solicitor and someone with a lot of experiences with the same substances enjoyed by RB. However, I'm not in the UK and not well versed in British law. Over there would it really be the "gotcha" moment for the prosecution as you say? If so, yikes! [One of the big jurisprudential issues with this being the case, is that it can easily be warped & the corollary applied re: victims of crime who are impacted by drugs at the time] Just my 2cb [the spurious b was a typo, but thought it quite fitting so it stays!]

Jane Fonda - Controversial Princess of a Hollywood Dynasty
TylerTheCreator replied to Gooseberry Crumble's topic in DeathList Forum
Described again as "frail" in DM Helped off stage due to heat exhaustion ... seems to have to be held up by those standing next to her in the speech video. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12350801/Jane-Fonda-looks-frail-speaking-strike-SAG-AFTRA-WGA-members-Hollywood.html -
Who was, for those playing at home, also born 27 May 1923

Ha! My first thought on seeing that article was also to see if he had a thread on here. Could this behaviour be a sign of some cognitive decline - Alzheimer's/dementia?

Ron's father, Arnold J. Hyatt, died 5 March 2022 aged 104. Ron was listed in the obituary as "Ronald Hyatt". https://www.jewishobservernashville.org/lifecycles/obituaries-april-2022-and-unveiling

Jerry Lee Lewis. He's looking embalmed and shaky.

Personally, I enjoyed the Daily Mail's groundbreaking coverage of his exhibition - to quote, "he puffed on a vape and sipped on a glass of bubbly, although it is not known if the drink was alcoholic or not". BTW, based on the pictures I'm not sure he qualifies for Deathlist .... surely you have to still be alive to make the cut
