Dag Erik Pedersen was born in Skien, Norway and died in Helgeroa, Norway aged 64, was a Norwegian cyclist with a long career as a professional. He won 3 stages at the Giro d'Italia and placed 4th in the road race at the 1981 World Championships. He won a total of 43 professional races in his 12 years in Italy and the Netherlands. He won the Norwegian National Road Racing Championship in 1992 (winner of a more recent edition to die, before it was Bjorn Stenersen, who won in 1990 and died in '98 at age 28). After retiring as a cyclist, he began working for the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, where until his death he worked as an anchor. He won the award for best news and sports anchor in Norway in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2008. As a player, he played in the Hoofdklasse for SV Transvaal and the Suriname national team, helping Transvaal win five national titles and two CONCACAF Champions Cups, in one of the greatest periods club success. He also managed HOB (House Of Billiards), Transvaal and the Suriname national team during his career.
