Oh damn, I didn't know that but I'm not surprises. I know that he was not very popular in the socialists

He was one of Mitterrand’s favorites, so he was rather popular among the socialists, at least in the older generation.

I never heard that his friendship with Le Pen was an issue, it was rather his embezzlement problems.

  2. The death of Roland Dumas means that Jean-Marie Le Pen is the last known surviving MP of the Fourth Republic.

There is only one other MP, Pierre Pommier, for whom we don’t know if he’s alive or dead. His political career lasted only 2 years and ended with the 4th Republic in 1958. If he’s alive, he’d be turning 102 in September.

This man didnt want to live a second Time with a facist government in France.

Despite he was a Socialist, Roland Dumas was good friend with Jean Marie Le Pen and the Le Pen family so I highly doubt he considered Rassemblement National as fascist.

Roland Dumas, since Micheline Presle and him are born one day apart the same month, the same year, there is great chance that he will follow her these year, like Milan Kundera born the same day as Marcel Amont, and died 4 month after these latter in 2023. It's destiny ! Roland Dumas is not as frail as André Chandernagor is tough.

Roland Dumas has died aged 101.

She has has been called 'the last Rosie the Riveter'. I've heard this thrown around about others before. Does anyone know if she was indeed the last living?

According to that article, there’s at least 28 surviving Rosie the Riveters

Jeff Whitefoot, ex Manchester United and Nottingham Forest player, has died. NOT by some way United's oldest living player despite some posts that he was.

His wiki page says "he has been called the last of the Busby Babes". Was he really ?

There seems to be a confusion on the identity of this player. He has no Bulgarian wiki so it's complicated. If you selected the 1937-born player from this page, it will direct you to Georgi Dimitrov who played in 1956 Olympics. What's contradicting is he only played for the national team until 1958. No reference linked in the wiki mentioned him being part of the 1962 squad. In the Polish and Hungarian wiki, there is a page for the player born in 1937 but never debuted for the national team.

The 1962 Bulgaria’s squad wiki page was also modified, Nikolov been replaced by Dimitrov in the roster.

You know you're getting old when you can clearly remember Francisco Conceição's dad Sergio scoring a hattrick in Euro 2000!

The Portuguese Conceição are the second father and son duo to both score in a Euro after the Italian Chiesa, the father Enrico scoring against Czech Republic in Euro 1996, and the son Federico scoring against Austria and Spain in Euro 2020.
