  1. German Rolf Geiger, who notably scored VFB Stuttgart’s first goal in Bundesliga in 1963, has died aged 89.

With Stuttgart, he won the 1958 DFB Pokal (German Cup).

Capped 8 times with West Germany, he was selected in the Unified Team of Germany for the 1958 Olympics and played their only game in the tournament, a 2-1 defeat against USSR.

  2. This kinda reminds me of Anne Buydens and Kirk Douglas.

She looked terrible and was in a wheelchair at his funeral, but she outlived Kirk for a year.

So maybe Jimmy will make it to 100 years old.

Lindsey Graham once said that conservatives don't create enough angry, white men to stay competetive politically.

I have a feeling that some people just talk about this to make some white men angry.

I could say the same thing about Black men and progressives, that some people talk about this to make some Black men angry, because they need Black men to stay competitive politically.

    Antonio Genato

He competed in the 1952 Summer Olympics, the 1956 Summer Olympics. He died at the age of 94

He was the last known* Filipino Olympian from the 1952 Games and the earliest known surviving Filipino Olympian.

    * Felix Cortes (born 1907), Pedro Landero (1913) and Martin Gison (1914) have no death dates, but are surely dead. Vicente Tunacao (1925) is off the radar and doesn’t appear on Oldest Olympian living nonagerians list.

Seems to mirror what happened with Barbara Bush a few years ago- she also died two days after entering hospice care.

And, like Barbara Bush and 11 others First Ladies, she died before her husband.

Netherlands international Ruud Geels reportedly dead aged 75

I believe he may have been selected for the 1974 World Cup but never played.

You’re right, he was in the Dutch squad for the 1974 WC, but was an unused substitute.

He was also in their squad for the 1976 Euro, this time playing Netherlands’ two games as they finished third.

He scored 2 goals in the 3rd place game.

5 Trump children, 3 of them now dead and one of the two still breathing is Donald. The Lord works in mysterious ways...

Well, Maryanne was 9 years his senior, Fred Jr died of a heart attack due to alcoholism, and Robert died of complications from a fall, so that’s not so "mysterious".

For Jimmy Carter it’s the opposite : his father and his three siblings died of pancreatic cancer at (relative) young age. And Jimmy is still around though he was the elder brother ! He even outlived one of his grandson.

Aldo Bet was born in Mareno di Piave and died aged 74 on 12 November, he was an Italian professional footballer who played as a defender, played for Internazionale, Rome, Verona, Milan and Campania

In 1974, he became the 6th player, out of 40 *, to play for both Inter and AC Milan.

Of those players, he’s the 5th to die.

    * The website does talk about 38 players, but the article was made before the arrivals of Hakan Calhanoglu and Francesco Acerbi at Inter.

Funeral tomorrow. Could be good for deadpooling ideas. Be interesting to see who attends.

Why are the funerals three weeks after his death ? Is there a reason ?
