  1. 1948 Turkish olympian Mustapha Batman who was listed as alive by Olympedia, actually died in 2004.

Which makes Uner Teoman the last Turkish survivor* from the 1948 Games. She is 91 years old.

    * There’s a Turkish olympian, A. Tarık Eğrilmez, who doesn’t have a death date, nor a birth date for that matter.

But he competed in art, and art competitors were much older than the athletes, so he’s most likely dead.

Found some more deaths for the 1948 Olympics.

American swimmer Jackie LaVine, selected in the 4x100 m Freestyle relay in 1948  (she actually did not compete), and bronze medalist in the 4x100 m freestyle relay in 1952, has died aged 93 one year ago on 21 October 2022.

I’ve sent a message to Olympedia to inform them.

Confirmed by the BBC that she withdrew from that due to the Cancer diagnosis that ultimately killed her.

She was still on stage until the end of July in a play where she played Clementine Churchill.

She died before the character she portrayed, Camilla Parker Bowles, though she was 10 years her junior.

Carlos López was born in Madrid and died at the age of 97, he competed in the 56 Olympics in equestrianism

He was the last living Spanish olympian from the 1956 summer games.

Indeed, Spain only sent 6 athletes, for the equestrian events who took place in Sweden. They didn’t send athletes in Melbourne, to protest against the presence of Soviet athletes.

In 888, the nobility continued to snub Charles of the crown after the other Charles' death by electing Odo, the count of Paris, king

French nobility, in 922,  organized a revolt led by Odo's brother Robert, whom they declared their rightful king.

With the reigns of Odo (Eudes or Odon in French) and his brother Robert began the rise of the powerful family the Robertiens.

In 987 Robert’s grandson Hugues Capet became king, thus ending the Carolingian’s dynasty rule. The Robertiens took the name of the Capétiens. Their dynasty would reign over France for 805 years consecutively until 1792 and the downfall of Louis XVI. After the fall of Napoleon they also regned 34 years more, from 1814 to 1848.
