    Hernan Carrasco reportedly dead

He is the second longest lived* and centenarian FIFA WC coach, after Mexican  Ignacio Trelles who died in 2020 aged 103.

Now the oldest living coach is Uruguayan José Santamaria , he is 94. He is also one of the last surviving players of the 1954 WC.

    *  the death dates of three FIFA WC coaches are unknown : Cuban José Tapia and Czechoslovak Josef Meissner both of the 1938 WC and North Korean Myung Rye Rhun of the 1966 WC.

Savo Milošević was born 50 years ago in Bijeljina, Yugoslavia (now Bosnia), played in the 98 Cup (for Yugoslavia) and 2006 (for Bosnia)

No in the 2006 WC he played for Serbia Montenegro, the "successor" of Yugoslavia. Bosnia played its only WC in 2014, and Milosevic, born in Bosnia (at time part of Yugoslavia) from Serbian parents, never played for Bosnia.

  3. One of the best African players ever, Malian Salif Keita, has died aged 76.

Truly a Saint Étienne and Ligue 1 legend.

During the 1970-1971 with Saint Étienne he scored 42 goals !

However he wasn’t the top scorer as Yugoslavian Skoblar from Marseille scored 44 times !

Keita and Skoblar are the only two people in the history of Ligue 1 to score 40 goals or more in one season !

He was the first Sub Saharan African to play in France and Spain. In 1973 he was the second player of Africa CAF (after Moroccan Abdallah Ben Barek from 1957 to 1968) to play in La Liga with Valencia.

If only we can find an obit saying that Nelson Lopez (Wiki) is dead, I don't know if we can trust the comment from this blog post saying he died a long time ago. I did find in his Spanish wiki that he died in 1980 in the categories. No link, explanation or even from the info box that mentions this.

Someone made a new post 3 days ago saying that he died in January 1990. No obit or source to back that up though.

  5. American Tom Courtney, 2 Times Olympic Champion in 800 metres and 4x400 metres relay at the 1956 games, has died aged 90.

He was the earliest surviving 800 metres Olympic Champion and Medalist. Now the earliest surviving Champion is Australian Ralph Doubell (winner at the 1968 Games) and the earliest surviving Medalist is Belgian Roger Moens (silver at the 1960 Games).

A-t-elle vraiment 101 ans ? Comment faire confiance aux Français quand ils échangent simplement leur place avec leurs filles et leurs fils, comme Madame Calment ?

Parce que tu crois aux fakes russes toi ?

When Jimmy will pass away, it's almost certain that Rosalynn will join him quickly and the same in the opposite case.

Kinda like Barbara and George HW Bush.
